 “Subliminal perception” is an information-transmission technique that avoids overloading active cognition by using a stimulus, called “prime,” below the conscious human cognition level (Chalfoun & Frasson, 2012, p.85).4. “Masked priming” is one of the most familiar subliminal perception techniques. It projects a prime (e.g. word or images) for a very short period of time.
