Respond to colleagues postings Affiliation: Response I agree that needs assessment needs to be carried out before any test is carried out. This is important as it will give direction to the next part of the research and brace the researchers on what to expect, what to avoid and what to modify in terms of training. Response 2I agree about the issue of making the sample size diverse in order to represent the diverse people in the group participating in the research. This diversity will ensure representativeness in the research as well as make the research findings generalizable.
The sample size should not be overly small however as it can affect the results negatively. Response 3My question is “how would you determine the sample size?” I am curious as this is not mentioned in the posting even though it is necessary to be elaborated and it affects the overall results. I have had difficulty determining the sample size in the past and would be interested to find out whether you have similar experience as me. Response 4Relying on the quality assurance department is a safe way to ensure that the data that is to be collected is not only free of biasness but will create correct final scores for the research.
You may want to change the norm if it is causing a disadvantage to your data collection techniques and procedures. Response 5I agree with disadvantages to the methods of data collection you have chosen even though they seem most convenient. However, if the disadvantages are likely to outdo the advantages of the methods, then you better change the methods or at least narrow down the methods to specifics.
