World Implication of the Stroop Effect al Affiliation Stroop effect is used to demonstrate how interference occurs in reaction to time and task by applying color concept to identifying the match between a color print and its actual name. In this concept, the name of the color is printed in a different color, for instance, the word blue is printed in red and the respondent is to identify the real name of color. There are three paradigms within this idea. They are neutral, incongruent and congruent (Schiffe, Rao, Fogel, & Ovid Technologies 2003).

For a congruent case, the color of the ink is compatible to the word, while, in the incongruent, the print words differ from the color. On the other hand, in the neutral case only one stimulus is displayed; that is either a word or the color. The test was first developed by John Ridney Stroop in 1935 and has an array of applications. One of the main implications of this idea is determining people’s attention capacity and brain processing speed. In neuropsychology, Stroop color-word test is applicable worldwide in the diagnosis of mental disorders like schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and dementia (Schiffe, Rao, Fogel, & Ovid Technologies 2003).

In this application, it determines the patient brain concentration ability to ensure no minor destruction or normal brain function. The basis of the test is to evaluate the time limits of responses correspondingly with the level of accuracy. This application as fore mentioned gives information on the extent of brain deterioration and active level. However, it is worth noting that this application is done at the screening level that precedes the treatment. In Conclusion, the technique is a form of modeling for the sensory responses to determine the effects of emotions in the event of interference.

By using color-word combinations, accuracy and time-bound estimates are regressed to deduce the extent of concentration, attention or brain processing speed. These parameters cumulatively are indicators of brain normality or abnormality; thus the application in neuropsychology. Reference Schiffer, R. B., Rao, S. M., Fogel, B. S., & Ovid Technologies, Inc.
