Employee Motivation Motivation influences productivity, and I believe it is essential to understand what motivates people to reach peak performance. It is not an easy task to increase their motivation because they respond in different ways. My first priority as a Web-Based Training Project Manager is to identify my core team and provide them with specific tasks. Secondly, my responsibilities will be to select and oversee the training and implementation of the new training management system. As company has provided me with Jonathan for assistance, it is crucial for me to first help him understand the new project.

It will also be an opportunity for me to learn from Jonathan’s 15 years of experience in the company. His experience in the product line will be of great benefit for preparing the procedures, and to develop project-related training material. With the given background of Jonathan, it is my responsibility to be enthusiastic about the new project. This is the first step to keep his interest in the new system. Since enthusiasm is contagions I am sure it will be easily passed to my colleague. I believe that satisfaction comes from achievement, recognition, advancement, responsibility, the work itself, and knowledge of the growth possibilities.

Jonathan will benefit from all the above. Besides, this training will provide Jonathan with the following intangibles. The first and foremost reason that he can be proud of is that the company has selected him as a first person to be exposed to the new system. Secondly, it will be a total new experience and it will help him to broaden his horizons. This would also help him in future as the company heavily involves him in any new regulated products. This new project will not only help him accrue new knowledge but also improve his self image and his attitude towards his fellow colleagues.

Since the company recognizes Jonathan for his experiences and respects his work ethics, I am sure that he will live up to the expectation of the company. The new responsibility will require him to interact with people and also help him achieve recognition from others as he executes his new role. Since the executive management anticipates the difficulty of acceptance of the new system from some of the units, it will be my job to train and execute the initial phase of the project by involving the heads of each unit.

With my knowledge and understanding and Jonathan’s assistance, I will teach them the benefits of the new system and how it would help the company and themselves by saving time and effort. Besides, the efficiency of the system will be demonstrated to the group by taking them through live examples. With the help of Jonathan, I will get into the next step of teaching them how to use the system and provide them an opportunity to work the new system personally. This will enhance their confidence on the new system.

I will also take this opportunity to answer any of the clarifications required by the team. Once the heads of the units are through with their training, it will be their responsibility to select candidates from their respective units for the next step of training. It will be easy for the unit heads to provide information about the new system and its benefits. This is my plan of action and I am confident that I will be able to do my best.
