?How Psychology Was Displayed in Time Magazine The following table shows psychology-related-issues from 1981 As what is quite evident from the table, psychology is indeed a very pervasive field. Almost anything can be connected to the study of behavior since everything that we do, feel, and think have something to do with our totality as beings. I have observed that from the 86 covers that have been included in the table, 40 of them deal with problems whereas 25 of them focus on solutions. Eleven of the covers expound on certain issues and do not really give much concern on agreeing or disagreeing with the topic. Another trend perceived was that there were more topics presented as problems in the first years. In the later issues, the topics were more of solutions. This may imply the attitude of being more proactive. Furthermore, most of the issues are related to the behavioral aspect of psychology. This may be so because of the nature of the topics included in the behavioral perspective such as actions, social issues, learning, making decisions, and other dynamics of lifestyle. Some of the most common behavioral themes are parenting, learning, and sexuality. In addition, the frequency of cognitive matters rose in the later issues. This may also denote that public’s shift of focus towards mental processes. The most apparent cognitive topic is on mind over body. For instance, the cover on the science of faith healing appeared twice. Only a handful of topics centered on learning especially on the clinical perspective. Most of the themes on learning involved education techniques especially for those with special needs. Finally, subject matters concerned with clinical aspects were more connected with addiction specially Cocaine. Personally, this requirement has reinvigorated the virtue of patience. Going through all of those issues entailed much time and effort. It was also rewarding to have insights as I completed the unexpectedly lengthy table. All in all, Time magazine has portrayed the significance of psychology throughout the decades. In almost every month, there is an issue that may be associated with the said field. This testifies that pragmatics of the science of behavior. In every phase and area of existence, psychology has something worthwhile to contribute. Read More
