Difference between experts and novices also affects their ability to make correct decisions regarding any matter. An expert is well aware of all facts related to any specific issue due to which he/she is able to make correct decisions. On the other hand, a novice is a person who does not have enough knowledge or awareness due to which he/she faces difficulties in going in the right direction. In every field of life, there are some experts and some novices. An expert is a skilled person who is aware of all technicalities regarding any matter of life.

Let us take an example of the chess game. In playing chess, an expert player can defeat the novice opponent easily because he/she knows all aspects of the game. Chest is a game that requires a person to do a lot of practice to become an expert player. One cannot win this game without any experience. An expert player is able to do successful moves because he/she is aware of the consequences of those moves. If we talk about experts using template theory, we can say that expert players have superior template-based awareness of chess.

They are able to access templates very quickly, which makes them choose the best possible move in a short time. On the other hand, a novice just knows the basics of the game. . On the other hand, a novice lawyer is usually low in confidence and knowledge. Experience also counts a lot in dealing with court cases. An expert lawyer is the one with a bunch of experiences in bag whereas a novice lawyer has little or no experience to deal with complex cases in courts due to which he/she struggles in front of expert lawyers.

The difference between an expert person and a novice person also exists in other fields of life, such as, medicine and engineering. For example, an expert medical specialist is able to diagnose a disease correctly as compared to a new specialist. Although knowledge counts a lot in medical science but experience is something, which develops a doctor into a reliable and trustworthy doctor. A novice specialist may have more knowledge as compared to an experienced specialist but when the time comes to make use of that knowledge, a novice specialist may face some difficulties because of not having enough practical experience.

This is the reason why young doctors work under supervision of experienced doctors in the beginning of their professional careers. A novice can become an expert but the key to this achievement is practice. Practice provides experience to a person, which makes him/her able to face any sort of challenge easily. Practice puts a substantial impact on the performance of a person. Experts also need to practice their skills regularly in order to retain their expertise. For example, an athlete can show brilliant performance only through practice.
