These results indicate that Newham, as a whole, should focus on recruiting a better class of students, as well as increasing the calibre of the teaching staff. One way that Newham can recruit a better class of student would be to increase its admission standards. With higher admission standards, the student body will have a higher degree of academic success. Higher admissions standards will delineate the students who are serious about their academic career from those who are not as serious. This would mean that the student's behaviour, on the whole, will be elevated.

A higher calibre of students would also have higher educational goals. These are two of the main concerns for the participants: two of the weakest areas. Moreover, for the teaching staff, it is obvious that the participants feel that the teaching calibre in the school is similarly lacking. Newham should have more stringent teaching standards and should hire and fire based upon merit. Furthermore, Newham should widen its scope when looking for qualified teachers so that they can find the best teachers, possible, from any area of the globe.

With better students and better teachers, the participants would be less inclined to think that. That there is a perception, overall, that the Newham borough does not have quality teachers, and does not produce quality students, is evident in the points which were raised in the parent interviews. The participant parent had many negative things to say about the borough's schools. She states that she drives past the East Ham College and the NewVic, and all that she sees is juvenile behaviour, such as running into the road and students standing around and smoking.

The staff apparently also smokes outside the building. She also has seen police vehicles outside of these schools. As this parent notes, the faculty is not setting the correct example for the children regarding smoking, and she states that the staff is not controlling the children. She was also concerned for her child's future at University.
