Placement Job Placement report Let me start by thanking the human resource team for getting time to review my Curriculum Vitae, and giving me a chance to work in Cardiff healthy center. I also thank the medical staff and especially the entire health care workers who worked harmoniously with me, and worked so hard to give me the exposure I needed to advance my career in the medical field In spite of the challenges I faced in trying to cope with some of the patient’s strong healthy issues and sudden loss of lives, I enjoyed working at your health center and I will always remain indebted to everyonethere and maintain deep appreciation and respect for all time. I must also remember to recognize the work done by my lecturers at the university; there are no doubts in excellent teaching practices which offered me strong healthy theoretical knowledge, which I believe it had prepared me to provide professionalized service to the esteemed clients of Cardiff home care center. Finally, I want to acknowledge my fellow students whom I interacted with and asked so many questions whose answers guided me to get my appointment position. I acknowledge my gratitude and appreciation to everyone. As part of my course of study at the university, I hereby offer a placement assessment which will include the work I did, the experiences I got as well as the skills and training I gained from working at the Cardiff home care health center. Other duties that I took at Cardiff home care center: to take care of the patients’ immediate needs, bring food and drinks at appropriate times and to maintain cleanliness and a high standard of cleanliness at all levels of service. Company history Cardiff home care is a fitness facility that offers medical services to specialized patients facing a variety of life threatening health problems. It is a place where the patientgetsthe specialized care that can contribute to faster recovery. At Cardiff home care, the clients are able to maintain perfect sense of privacy and freedom that provides them with the right conditions for quick recovery. Patients have the freedom of choosing their personal schedules such as bathing time, meal time and other daily activities. The home offers appropriate medical and nutritional care according to patients needs. The caregivers provide companionship that helps the clients to achieve wellness, avoid stress and enjoy their stay at the time when confined intheir home (MANLEY, 1992). My role and job description Besides having basic knowledge of medical care and medical terminologies, my primary responsibility was to plan and ensure that all meals and drinks were provided in a timely manner. Maintain regular cleanliness such as light clean up and housekeeping, changing bed linens and neatly spreading the bed, vacuuming and dusting, light laundry and ironing. I also used to keep records of mails, organizing calendars and running errands. I had to assist the patient with bathing, grooming and dressing, assist them with light physical exercises and psychological therapy fitness. I offered the patients with companionship and reported their progress to appropriate medical personnel. Personal skills and competencies I have gained good interpersonal skills that help me to relate with different people. I have a good team working skills that have enhanced my cooperation in different groups. I am an enthusiastic individual who struggles through challenges and able to liaise effectively with all the other staff in the Cardiff home care institution. I also command excellent oral and written communication skills. Social aspect of the institution By interacting with the people in Cardiff home care center, I have acquired effective social skills that will help me to interact with people anywhere else I will have to be in the future. The team consisted of people with diversified culture, and I was able to adopt new skills from a different culture (MANLEY, 1992). At first, when I arrived as a placement student, I felt unwelcome, and I judged that I will work under stressful circumstances. This did not last for long as an opportunity to work and share with the rest of the caregiverscame at a particular time, the workload in the place got too much. This created a chance to prove my ability when asked to assist one of the colleaguesby giving personal care to one of the patients. This event changed my colleagues perspective of whom they had thought I was. Since that instance, I have enjoyed the social interaction and the friendly atmosphere that I have experienced was at home. Communication and time management skill In my time as a caregiver at a home nursing institution has provided an opportunity to work and communicate with long working individuals with a vast knowledge and expertise. I have watched them closely, and I was able to grasp their secret towards personal success lies in the ability to ask for help whenever anyone stuck somewhere. This was an effective way of getting things done both collectively and individually. I was able to learn how to accommodate all eventualities in a timely manner, and this improved my time management skills, which has enabled me to meet deadlines and hit the targets. Previous experience I had gained prior to the job The only relevant experience I had prior to getting the caregiver job was basic medical knowledge from my presiding university course. I have also worked in other positions that are relevant to the caregivers work in various other homes at in Cardiff. Both the working experience and the study course have been of benefit, and it helped me to add value at home, I believe that this valuable experience will be of immense value to me in my preceding final year’s studies. The experience will also be of invaluable measures in my other future job position. Increased self-awareness and personal decision making skills While working at home, I have had my share of challenges, which provided an opportunity to learn about my strengths, as well as my weaknesses. One of my main weaknesses was my inability to make better decisions when faced with a crisis (MANLEY, 1992). This has significantly improved and has led to continued personal growth, which has enhanced a healthy self-awareness and increased confidence. I can now confidently address a class presentation, efficiently raise concern if there is a depressing concern and take part in any decision making process even in a highly competitive environments. In general, I believe that working at the healthy home care institution has profoundly influenced my career.
