Civil profession gives golden opportunity to explore and unfold the art and craft of construction business. . This fabulous and fascinating industry attracted me in the childhood since my father is an architectural engineer by profession. My father has built the company and it is one of the leading developers in Kuwait and worked really hard so that’s I find it that it is my duty to continue his legacy and I am going to do whatever it takes to achieve that. I have always been content with the worldly pleasures since I come from upper-middle class family. My life has been extraordinarily happy and blessed. Birthplace for me was a small village with pleasant surprises around each and every corner. This village has turned into a small city. I have nice childhood memories. A short distance from the scene of my childhood, I have had the pleasure of enjoying wonderful parents and my siblings. Moving into Kuwait at an early age brought important transformation in my life due to diverse challenges. It took my father a while and he had to go through a lot until we finally settled in Kuwait. However, these difficulties awaked my potential for enhancing academic and practical credentials, and provided the opportunity to become a resolute, goal-oriented person. I realized the importance of ‘strict to oneself’ what my parents have taught me. I have learnt to respect time. I give my father credit for teaching me the importance of being honest, how to work hard, but being a success in God’s eyes is the first priority. In addition to this professionally he gave me clear understanding of managing the team, local knowledge of the marketplace, commitment to quality and service to customers. My father works as a regional manager in ALARGAN national general trading & contracting co. and my mother is a housewife. I am having the privilege of working for my father part-time because I am still an undergraduate student. But I want to get some experience before I continue my graduate studies.  My responsibility is to learn as much as I can from the field. The primary responsibilities of a civil engineer in the civil construction job opening are planning and supervising the project, preparing detailed design of the project keeping in consideration the safety and environmental norms and the project’s compliance with the budget, time schedule and contract specifications as well as the local laws and rules applicable to the project. Sometimes it can be crippling to follow in your father’s shadow but I consider it a gift to have a father who is a great teacher and someone I am honored to follow. Dad is not only my boss, he is my father and friend. My exposure to his practice provided me with a sense of fulfillment; a motivation to gain more knowledge in the field, to become more focused with leadership attitude; and most significantly determination what I want to do for rest of my life. However, I am under constant pressure because I fear I will not be as successful as my father even although I am in a better condition from which he had to go through when he was adolescent. I am impressed with the intricacy and meticulous procedures, the need for precision, the technicalities, challenges, and need for patience in the construction line. There has been a significant and steady upward trend to my grades with achieving above 3.25 GPA in the Kuwait University. I am a senior majoring in civil engineering and is reflective of my academic potential. I have also been rewarded as Honor student for two consecutive semester in spring semester 2007/2008 and fall semester 2008/2009. I took a course that allowed me to begin exploring my research interests. As luck would have it, Dr. Rawa Al-Jarallah of the course “Water & Waste Water Treat” had similar research interests. I had a hard time adopting with her in the beginning as she was really difficult in her way of teaching and I didn’t have anyone to help me and my other two colleges with our project we were assigned to. First of all we had to submit a draft paper which was refused after all the hard work. Then I asked for her help. So she suggested carrying out independent study. So we started collecting the data, and then analyzing and explaining it in a systematized manner. The conclusions of the result were documented. When we presented our work at the end of the course the she was really pleased with our effort and she said it was the best presentation. The research experience generated strong interest in the environmental issues that concern our planet .Looking back over my four years in college, I cannot believe that I have achieved this much success. My experiences in research have opened many doors for me. I am currently in the process of applying to graduate schools, which all emphasize the importance of past research experience. It is really important to associate with a faculty member as early as possible. Not only does the research experience look incredible on graduate applications, it may provide you with the opportunities that you never thought possible before. It may be a lot of work, but the rewards it is going to fetch will be worth it in the end. I believe that this unique blend of experiences has made me a man with an original point of view. This blend has given me a broader perspective to and a good understanding of life and a goal to aim for. I have ability to react quickly and take instant decision when needed, and can think laterally and work under pressure. I am highly individualistic, competitively aggressive under stress, and trained to be self reliant. A graduate education can offer me a great deal of intellectual and personal satisfaction and challenges. I look for graduate study to refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of interest. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career in real estate. It can lead to a career which provides me with gratification in life, and fulfill all the needs. I believe that being a part of your department would not only enhance my career opportunities, but also help me realize my maximum potential. The work experience, research or training that I will acquire during the course of this program will help me to get a head start in my career. The challenge of researching and analyzing an unknown subject is the most enjoyable part of academic life. I am eagerly waiting to become a part of this dynamic culture which will give me a leading edge to work effectively in diverse teams and situations. I want to work towards a PhD or get another master’s degree in project management. I have strong desire to make significant contribution in research and Development programs of the University. I look forward to bring a strong addition to your department, being highly focused, with strength, stamina and heightened alertness. I have chosen University of Maryland as the place at which I would like to pursue a master degree because I find that the graduate program is fully suited to my needs and that it possesses a strong faculty in the field of Real Estate. Your esteemed University has the size and diversity of the highly qualified faculty as well as the availability of varied courses. This will give me opportunity to experience in truly State-of art Infrastructure and the chance to interact with distinguished and learned professionals. I believe when knowledge and skills are shared, opportunities of success are numerous. My aspiration at this moment is full of resoluteness and steadiness. I have a strong desire to succeed. I think it’s a sense of drive to want more out of life to change myself to make a better world, or to change the world to make a better life for me. Either way I am motivated with a purpose in life. Given a chance I would able to fulfill, preserve and cherish the desire to contribute positively towards society. Excellent work Read More
