At this point in life I feel I am more aware of myself than anyone else; I know what to do and which direction to take. Not long ago, I was faced with the decision to join a high school that suits my interests and passion. Today I face the same decision for which I humbly, and with great honor, have chosen your graduate school. I have a burning ambition to excel in the field of business administration and business management for which I am looking forward to joining the business program of your graduate school.
The reason for making the choice is most obvious; your graduate school is one of the highest ranked and most reputed schools in the country and it would be a matter of honor for me to become a part of this prestigious school. I strongly believe in the powers of healthy, constructive and good communication and two-way learning because of which I shall contribute whatever I have learnt from the high school experience to your school and, at the same time, learn from the students and faculty of your school to enhance my horizon of knowledge.
Becoming a part of your school is more than a matter of honor for me; I recognize that the school is the breeding ground for highly professional academia and has given birth to some of the most educated and learned professionals across the world. To this end I believe that my strong educational background and interpersonal skills shall help me propel in the highly competitive learning environment at your school, while at the same time display professional and mature conduct with my associates at your school.
I have a passion for progressing and achieving better results; I am never completely satisfied of my work which always provides stimulus for further improvement as I believe that no effort is perfect. This strive for excellence, perseverance and ambition has developed my confidence over the years and I feel I can easily adapt to any environment as I have had sufficient exposure to ambiguous situations during case study sessions and team building exercises at high school. I tend to demonstrate patience even in the most difficult times and that is largely attributed to my calm and composed personality.
At the same time, however, I feel I am capable enough to convey what I am supposed to and can easily and avidly communicate my point of view across culturally diverse group of people. Being an international student at your graduate skill, I believe this shall be one of the most useful skills I have learnt. Furthermore, community welfare has always been at the heart of my career orientation and I believe giving back to the community is something I would give up. Helping educate the less fortunate through the skills I would learn at your graduate school would be another goal of my study apart from the primary goal of transferring my skills to the industry.
Above all skills, I believe honesty is the greatest virtue, and I try not to compromise on it when it comes to my work. Furthermore, I strongly believe in the proverb that “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. I would certainly not associate myself as having a dull and dry personality; I enjoy sports and enthusiastically pursue it despite a tiresome study schedule since I believe it always pays off to have a fresh and healthy mind. Sports not only brings physical health; it greatly adds to one’s mental health (Faulkner and Taylor) .
I have also made it a point to keep myself abreast of latest technological development as far as the use of basic word processing and data software is concerned. I have the ability to learn quickly about operation of various software and I also intend to do courses in MS EXCEL and other software in order to keep myself updated with the industry dynamics. Thus, I greatly look forward to becoming a part of your prestigious graduate school and associate myself with in pursuance of my interests and in order to enhance my career prospects.
The skills I shall learn shall be invaluable in helping me achieving my long term career goals in the business arena. Reference: Faulkner, Guy E. J. and Adrian H. Taylor. Exercise, health and mental health: emerging relationships . Oxon: Routledge, 2005.
