Proposal for the Marketing of Self-Cleaning Toilets My Target Market Self cleaning toilets or automated toilets are a growing phenomenon that is gaining popularity both in homes and at public places. They were first designed in Clear Channel Adshel in Westminster, London, but now they are being used in many countries especially USA. Most of them are coin operated and run with the assistance of computers. My marketing product is the self cleaning toilet with a computer monitoring system with which the user can make adjustments using remote control.

Graffiti-resistant materials are used on the exterior portion and there are community service messages on the display panel along with audio instructions. My target market will include homes and public places where at homes, this product will facilitate old age people, working men and women, and children; and also, this product will be used in schools and colleges, offices, parks, and shopping areas. The main intention before the usage of this product will be the saving of time and energy in using toilets.

Since old age people and children are too feeble to clean the toilet after using it and working people and students are also running short of time, hence this product is especially designed for them. Public places also need them since people often do not consider cleaning the toilets themselves properly after using them. Public places need to be hygienically cleaned which this product very efficiently ensures because the cleaning cycle is nearly of forty seconds which includes the flush, the cleaning of bowl and seat, and disinfecting and drying of the floor.

My Marketing Approach I would mainly use the brochure marketing approach. My color brochures will actually be a guide for the readers that would tell them the usefulness of the automated toilets and how they are going to save them time and energy. Targeted for different users, the brochure will contain details for all kinds of users: older adults, children, working people, and public places. I would incorporate solution approach in brochure marketing which means that the brochures will first discuss the users’ problems and then offer them the solution.

This will be like sympathizing with the potential customers thus attracting them toward the product. This approach tends to attract more consumers because their problems are being discussed directly. I will distribute these brochures among students and people at offices; will have them thrown at house doorsteps; and, will make sure that they are being given to people who park their cars at public places. The brochures will contain colorful images of the product professionally taken so that the consumers easily get an idea what accessories are provided with the product and how they work.

I also plan to use email marketing approach which will target potential consumers of all categories and will send them emails introducing the product to them. Giving advertisements at social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter is also a good approach because these sites are the best places where local businesses can be introduced to the potential customers. Hence, in internet marketing, I would use email marketing approach and advertisement approach on social networking websites.
