It appears to be the only full-service professional body representing the interests of over 3.1 million nations’ registered nurses. They are committed to advocacy in nursing as a profession since they have for years spoke with one voice concerning critical issues in a nursing profession.

In addition, what makes the ANA unique, and the profession organization of choice is the way they strive in advancing the nursing profession by fostering very high standards of nursing practice. They also promote the rights of nurses in the workplace, forecasting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying. For instance, making their voice heard through the Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting every nurse and the public.
