A facility does not record positive performance without any inputs. Therefore, the performance of the facility will be dictated by the amount of inputs that are available. This includes the number of laborers, the medical equipment and assistance from other facilities, medicine and drugs. Without the stated inputs, the facility is likely to record dismal results in service provision (Smith, 2010). Apparently, the inflow of inputs is directly linked to the performance of the facility. If a nursing facility receives an abundance of inputs in a stated period, it is likely to reflect greater performance.

On the other hand, if the inputs are limited, then it is obvious that the facility will give limited services to the people that need them. A facility is often affected by the internal management. This is usually described as the throughput. The managers and employees have to make good use of any inputs and facilities that available in the institution. This will ensure they give the best services to the people that need them. In many instances, managers tend to give different approaches in management of a facility.

Rotational management ensures there is improving change in a facility especially in different departments (Meyer and O’Brien-Pallas, 2010). . Therefore, Most of the performance of the institution will be measured by the output in terms of services and patient volumes (Meyer and O’Brien-Pallas, 2010). Serving a large number of patients with high quality services is a proof that the facility is making progress. However, stagnant queues in an institution show that the service delivery is not convenient.

Therefore, the people that need the services are not given enough attention as most of the nurses need to attend to other patients that have more demanding issues. The nursing fraternity involves change of strategies and the way people work to create an improving facility. A facility that has a reliable and rotational way of offering services depending on the situation is likely to make an improvement in service delivery (Meyer and O’Brien-Pallas, 2010). For instance, division of labor will at times ensure all the queues are served at the right time and at their convenience.

However, at times the queues need specialized treatment. In such a situation, there will be a need to change on the way the business is conducted in the facility as some of the specialized doctors will have to work on the single case. In instances where the clients or patients are not given apt services, they are likely to complain. This is considered negative feedback as the patients are not contented with the services that are offered. Similarly, many nursing facilities have their targets that should be achieved at the end of a period.

These targets are influential in deciding the performance of a facility. However, when the targets are not achieved, it is proof that the facility has failed to use a systematic approach in service delivery. The most prevalent issue in staffing is the issue of understaffing. The
