Management and leadership concepts Select a management or leadership concept Effective communication is one of the most elaborateand effective leadership concepts that a professional pursuing a career in information technology can possess as a proper leadership quality. The leadership concept can be impacted into graduates in this field either through natural means to those who poses leadership roles as suggested by trait theory, great events theory suggests that leaders can learn through circumstances that calls for effective leadership qualities and transformational leadership theory that fosters leadership through training and learning.

An information technology professional needs to have effective communication trait so as coordinate and assign tasks appropriately in management and execution of any viable project (Gosling, Sutherland & Jones, 2012). Medical records need an established structure that favors proper communication channel between the patients and the hospital administration so as to facilitate easy retrieval of information. Effective communication envisions a leadership concept that captures trust factor as part of social science whether in an organization or a society.

Given the definitions of science you encountered in the readingsSocial sciences support the fact that a society is only harmonious when communication is properly identified and associated with. What extent does this concept make claims to universalityEffective communication covers a wide area in terms of being embraced from a worldwide perspective. It is a common denominator that the most established organizations subscribe to in their leadership structures and capabilities. Effective communication appears to be the best platform between the managers who are leaders and the staff to work towards a common objectives and goals (Beebe, 2011).

Predictive powerEffective communication is proficient as a predictive power because it bases its application on real leadership and management scenarios in an organizational setting. It has been continuously been proven over the years that effective communication not only increases the productivity of an organization but also builds on the leadership characteristic in managers and individual professional in solving the daily problems and challenges (Delanty & Strydom, 2003). Effective communication has a strong predictive power capacity because it is a fixed variable that is being employed in the leadership and management structure of upcoming organizations.

What does it assume about the forces at work in society?Society operates in peaceful realm because of proper communication amongst the individual entities that form the societal structure (Northouse, 2011). Harmony is as a result of proper communication and good relations because peaceful coexistence can only be attained with solving issues through communication and understanding.Organizations Effective communication as a leadership trait ensures trust and mutual consent between the top management and the staff and provides a platform that recognizes the importance of individual input in increasing organizations productivity (Beebe, 2011).

Is it part of a large system of concepts?Yes it is part of competency of the leadership structure. Competency is built by an array of factors effective communication being one of them. Principles Effective communication involves principles such as self-improvements, teamwork and team cohesiveness, proper execution of tasks, effective reporting and accountability structure, information availability and sense of responsibility (Gosling, Sutherland & Jones, 2012).Effective communication is an important component of leadership and should be embraced in all corners of the globe to achieve harmony and increase in productivity especially for IT professionals.
