The process unearthed studies on various Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games including London 2012, Sydney 2000, and Beijing 2008, and other major sporting events such as the world athletics championship.
However, it was essential for the report to consider that in most cases, sporting activities are always evenly represented in literature. Throughout the literature re-examination of the Scottish Government (2014), the researcher found that people have widely researched the Athens 2004 and Sydney 2000. Those underrepresented are many winter Olympic Games, Melbourne 2006, as well as 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. When conducting a literature review of this report, the report discovered that there is a limited availability of information regarding big sporting events.
Nonetheless, the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland (2014) report is available and differs with information greatly both in rigour and quality.
