Extract of sample "The Size of the University"

It is not uncommon to find most students prefer to study at larger universities to smaller ones. However, evidence shows that smaller universities have some advantages over larger universities. Personally, although NJITCU is considered a small university because of its size and the number of students, I have decided to pursue a physical therapy course at the school.

This is because the small class enables the student to participate actively in class work through greater interaction with classmates. At the same time, a smaller class allows a student to maintain closer contact with the professor, thereby facilitating good learning. This is because small universities like NJITCU strive to promote mentoring relationships between students and professors. Secondly, learning in small universities is advantageous to students because such small schools offer students the opportunity to work closely with academic advisors. This helps promote the development of a curriculum specialty that works best for the student. In other words, the students get encouragement and career advice from the faculty and staff. Thirdly, attending smaller schools is advantageous because it offers the student the opportunity to be involved and stand out in extracurricular activities. Additionally, smaller schools are advantageous because they provide a good social life for students. After all, students can get in contact with one another quite often.

Although pursuing an education at a small school like NJITCU has advantages, such schools are also disadvantageous in certain aspects. The first major disadvantage is that small universities like NJITCU may lack big-name professors who are at the top of their game. Secondly, smaller universities may not offer a variety of faculty courses that a student may be interested in pursuing. Thirdly, small schools have limited resources, such as libraries where students can take their studies. Lastly, smaller universities may be disadvantageous since they may not offer a variety of extracurricular activities that a student may be interested in besides learning how physical care therapist performs various functions as a health care professional. These include the promotion, restoration, and maintenance of the physical health of the patient. In this regard, a PT is responsible for the diagnosis and ensuring effective management of movement problems, as well as promoting the physical and functional abilities of the patient. They are also involved in the restoration, of physical function and optimal fitness of an individual as related to health and movement.
