The Human Resources Managers are the primary determinant of quality in research and higher education. Therefore, the collaborates with this department to hence human potential both quantitatively and qualitatively. The progress of a university is determined by the HR department who provide a favorable professional environment for collecting information and giving tangle consideration of information gathered. According to Pausits, 2015, the quality of academia and management depends on the quality of HR department and functions. In our case study, the HR department considered collecting data about the number of employees and students while benchmarking their annual pay rise because this is the only two main ends that are involved in circulation of finance in the University holding the universities' infrastructural development constant. The reason for benchmarking the pay rise comparing with 25 other universities is to have an overview of several aspects such as progress and performance of the institutions. The main need for HR department of benchmarking this information is to determine if the size of the university regarding student enrolment and the number of staffs (employees) influence the annual pay raise. By comparing at 25 universities pay rise, we can be able to carry out data analysis and determine in the universities with the highest number of enrollment (large) have the highest pay rise comparing the universities with a low enrolment (small) rate which has the least pay rise. Since of a large number of the information provided, we are going to determine the mean (average) pay rise depending on the size of the universities (Small, Medium, and large). The hypothesis will be formulating, suitable data analysis technique and recommendation will be made according to the results of the analysis. Hypothesis Null Hypothesis: There is a significance difference in the average annual pay rise according to the size of the University Alternative hypothesis: the average pay rise is not affected by the size of the university (there is no difference in the average annual pay rise according to the size of the university) Specifically, Where µ1 represent the average pay rise in the large group, µ2 represent the average pay rise in the medium group and µ1 represent the average pay rise in the small group. On the null hypothesis, we will focus on how the university's enrollment (the size of the university) has an effect on the annual pay rise. This analysis is achievable since we already have the information about the number of employees and students from twenty-five universities which are categorized according to their sizes. University with a low number of students and employees is categorized as "low" and with the highest number of students is categorized as "large." This kind of data is called categorical data. The amount of annual pay rise from each university is determined and recorded against the size of the university. Since our case study is based on the benchmarking done by Human Resource Department of one university which is categorized as large, our main focus will be the trend (or behavior) on the large size universities and their annual pay rise in reference of the other small and medium universities. Analysis and Discussion In this case, we will use the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the if there is any statistical significance difference among the three independent (unrelated) means obtained from the three groups (Small. Medium, and large). To be specific, we will use one-way ANOVA (omnibus test statistic). This test does not tell with which group which specific group is statistically significant but only outline the statistically significant difference among the three group under consideration. Some of the things we must observe before proceeding on with the analysis are that the dependent variable (pay rise) is measured at the ratio or interval level, the independent variable (the three groups) must be categorical, and the observations are supposed to be independent.
