Organizational behavior Organizational behavior involves the study of individuals and their actions within the context ofa business in the place of work with the intent of understanding and projecting human behavior. Thus, organizational behavior involves the study and use of facts on how individuals and groups interact within organizations using the systems approach. The system approach interprets people-organization relations in terms of people, whole group, whole social and whole organization system; hence, organizational behavior involves studying people actions within an organization and the way their behavior influences performance of organizations (Hiriyappa, 2009).
Globalization to organizations has many constructive and dynamic features related to improved market access, increased capital as well as better access to technology and information that leads to greater income and employment opportunities. Globalization to organizations presents an opportunity for free trade and the resulting effects of global economy, with free trade leading to increased financial flows. Globalization creates transnational regulatory frameworks, which ensures that organization have the opportunity of tapping into the full potential of global networks because the networks are responsible for the welfare of both nations and the global community.
Sharing resources between organizations in a global stage both formally and informally through cooperation and collaboration result in benefits that go beyond what an individual organization can accomplish on its own. Recent advances in technology facilitate intra and inter-organizational communications that are coupled with increased recognition of such organizations in the global society. Through globalization, organizations are faced with the opportunity of increasingly accessing diverse products, services and even technology.
Through pooling of knowledge and exchanging more goods as well as services increases domestic economies and offers organizations an opportunity to benefit from technological developments. A combination of these opportunities to organizations means that organization have the opportunity of increasing their volume sales since there is increased growth rate of GDP as well as the empowerment of people through acquisition of additional resources and capital (Monsod, 2000). Globalization offers a complex and interwoven puzzle for organizations since product development needs to go hand-in-hand with supply chain management in individual nations.
Moreover, global environment is not always static for organizations since when an organization enters a certain market; managers may need to rethink their decisions regarding other issues like product development, financial risks or even corporate citizenship. As well, dynamic changes within the global stage like economic crises, fresh regulations as well as political rebellions have significant influence on decisions organizations make in an attempt to stay afloat. Thus even though, globalization has several benefits, there exists various negative and marginalizing aspects of globalization, which often leads to a backlash as showed by demonstrations of civil society.
Globalization faces the challenges of unbalanced distribution of benefits, financial volatility and increased human insecurity with the globally integrated markets facing the financial volatility as a permanent feature. Financial volatility poses great challenge to people and organizations among them being bankruptcy, increased unemployment, increase of poverty and reversal of human development. Globalization of organizations ensures that employees work with team members half way around the world that offers unique opportunities and challenges for such teams.
Through globalizations, organizations enjoy the availability of a worldwide market and face steep competition from competitors spanning the globe with their global workforce team. The virtual work in global organizations has the benefits of reduced expenses, recruitment of members based on competency, which ensures increased availability of teams and employees have increased flexibility within their schedule.
