Interpersonal Communication Goal: I can’t seem to get my point across specifically enough d Conversation log Logs Monday last week, morning of September 04, 2011 at school before the class. Spoke with my buddy (name of your friend here about how he spend his weekend.A. Synopis of conversation It was aregular conversation between friends on how we spend our weekends. The conversation was casual and relax which predominantly used colloquial language. (name of friend here) talked about accompanying his sister going to the mall while I talked about the game I saw on TV.
Its a conversation I like having with.B. Conversation challenge and pattern The only challenge I see in this type of conversation is the heavy use of informal language which may not help in getting our message across in a structured and formal communication. The pattern of conversation with friends is relax which I seem to converse better because I like the people I am talking with. But the use of heavy slang can sometimes pose a difficulty in getting a message accurately. 2) Tuesday last week, lunch time of September 05, 2011 at the school’s cafeteria.
Spoke with a female classmate at school about Apple’s latest gadget, the Iphone 5.A. Synopis of conversation We talked about how “cool” the hologram keyboard and display of iphone 5. We also kidded on where we are going to get the resources to buy it because it is pricey.B. Conversation challenge and patternAdmittedly, I feel a little self-conscious talking with the opposite sex especially if they are attractive. I am a little awkward in this type of conversation but I like talking with the person. 3) Wednesday last week, family dinner of September 06, 2011 with Mom and Dad at home and we talked about me. A. Synopsis of conversationIt is basically a typical parent-child conversation with Mom and Dad about how I am doing in school and life in general.B. Conversation challenge and patternI have to admit that my answers were calculated and safe.
They are my parents so I have to be respectful and my answers should be consistent with what they want to hear. If I really voice out my opinion, I am afraid that it will just end up in argument just like the previous converation we had. To parents who uses a different context, it seems to be difficult to get messages across from a teenagers’ point of view.I like being with my parents but sometimes our conversations makes me think a lot.4) Friday last week, night out with friends on September 9, 2011.
It was a house party and played poker over some drinks. We talked about anything under the sun. A. Synopsis of conversationIt was a typical teenage conversation that is characterized by a light and jovial type of talk with few exchange of banters. We talked about who is attractive in school and what is “in” and what is “out”.B. Conversation challenge and patternThe main challenge in this type of interaction is that it is so informal that sometimes the conversations has no substance to get messages across.
This type of conversation can be fun especially to a teenager like me but getting substantial message across can be sometimes futile because it will just be ridiculed.5) Saturday last week, September 02, 2011, an argument with my sister in the mall.A. Synopsis of conversationMy sister asked me to accompany her in the mall to buy something which I did. I thought it will be just a quick trip because she will just buy something that she needs. We ended up scouring the whole for a shop that I understand and she ended up buying something that was not really intended to be bought. B. Conversation challenge and patternWe argued and I do not know how to make my sister understand that it is not necessary to tour the whole mall just to buy a pair of dress.
Girls can sometimes difficult to understand and talk to. I don’t do well conversing with girls especially when they talk about shopping and other things that interests them.
