The same is related to teachers. Their salary, unlike salary of Western teachers, depends on how well their students study.
Another difference is that in China children do not choose subject they can study. They have to study all the subjects the school teaches. Only in high school children are allowed to choose some subjects. In Western education children can choose more subjects – they have more freedom in choosing certain specialization.
Grades for each subject in China depend mostly on results of tests. While in the Western system assignments completed during each week add to the final grade, tasks that Chinese children do at school do not count to the final grade. The final grade depends on exams. Besides, grades for tests and exams are shown to everybody. As a result every student knows what grades have other students. A teacher then praises students that have good grades and criticized bad students, ties to encourage them to study better. Also the best students get rewards for their excellent grades, even money from school. On contrast, Western schools disclose to a student only his or her grades.

People all over the world look for ways to get higher education entering colleges and universities. Though the result of getting education is the same everywhere – one gets a profession and an opportunity to start a career in one’s field of choice – the way to get this education is different in the USA and the Western European countries.
In contrast USA education system despite the vast resources invested to it is ranked lower compared to Finnish education system. There are variety of similarities and differences in both countries’ education systems. Compared to Finland which has an all inclusive educational system, USA has no country-wide regulations being imposed on schools since individual states as opposed to the Federal Government are responsible for regulating schools and the construction of schools curriculum.
For example, western approach assumes that all phenomenons have an explanation behind them. In cases where one encounters a phenomenon hard to explain, tension gets created which causes a feeling of agony. Western psychology over emphasises the role of unconsciousness when looking for the source of one’s problems.
