Re: Eliminating Human Resource Problems Dear Your Friend's Here, The situation in your department represents a tedious task. The problems regarding your workforce should be resolved immediately in order to eliminate the more detrimental repercussion that it can bring to the business organization. I would really like to be of help to you in finding solutions. First of all, allow me to give you an overall assessment of the problems in your department. You have stated that the company's board had increased the production goals by 50% in the next two quarters after which, problems for the human resource department such as absenteeism, low employee morale, lack of motivation, and high employee turnover.

Altogether, these led to lower level of production and product quality. The problems stated above indicates greater core concerns which should be looked into. These are not the real problems but merely symptoms of the company's failure to establish an organizational structure suited to its human resource. These problems can be attributed to the grievance and dissatisfaction of the workforce as their needs remained unmet. I have come up with four recommendations which you can do in order to enhance employee morale and product quality in your department: employee empowerment, more open communications, motivational tools, and employee evaluation. 1. Employee Empowerment.

The traditional approach of leaving decisions to the managers is now considered obsolete. I strongly believe that this is not working in your department. I believe that employees should be given the chance the chance to participate. It has been demonstrated that giving employees the chance to participate in the decision making of business organisations directly and significantly contributes to their job satisfaction. As human beings, employees have this innate desire to enhance their self worth.

Without their participation and involvement, employees are left with the feeling that they are no more than the equipment that the company uses. With these sentiments, employees began to feel dissatisfied with their job, leading to human resource problems like absenteeism and low labour productivity. I think this is what is happening in your case. I suggest that you empower your employees and increase their job satisfaction in the process. This will significantly reduce their problems.2. Open Communications.

In order to fully understand the needs of the employees, managers should be constantly open to their problems and grievances. Managers should also readily communicate the goals of the company to their staff. Communication will enhance employees' relationship with their managers and the business organization. As employees are companies' strategic partners, it is also very crucial that production goals are disclosed to them3. Motivational Tools. The motivational tools in your department should be checked.

Motivation is one of the great concerns of human resources. When highly motivated, the workforce can easily achieve organizational goals. Monetary benefits have been traditionally regarded as the greatest motivational factor. However, I believe that your employees need more than just increase in their wages to compensate for the higher productivity required of them. Praise them for their accomplishments, treat the whole team to lunch, and make sure that they are being rewarded for the slightest task that they accomplish.

This will leave them feeling more motivated to excel.4. Employee Evaluation. The performance of each individual employee should be evaluated. Goals should be established and communicated. Then, performance should be evaluated. However, employees should always be given positive reinforcement for their shortcomings. Evaluation is also for the company to know the workforce's strengths and weaknesses. This will also acquaint you with their needs. Your Name Here
