Although it is not possible to spell out the exact map of the future, there are always ways to develop a viable vision (Kenichi, 2003). This report describes the strategic plan for my future vision. It is based on concepts from the article titled "Personal Futuring: A step-by-step guide" by Verene Wheelwright. Since personal assessment begins with vision (Brott, 2009), therefore this report assesses my current stage in life and uses various information to develop scenarios for the subsequently stages of my life. It further goes to analyze the life trends and forces which impact our lives as humans, and describes the role various foreknown forces play in motivation of actions. Strategic planning helps provide professional vision (Morrissey, 1992, 2) so finally all the information is developed into strategic plans for achieving my future vision.
Life Stage
According to Wheelwright the phases in our life can be divided into tens stages, namely Infant, Child, Adolescent, Young Adult, Adult, Middle Age, Independent Elder, Vulnerable elder, Dependant elder and End of Life. Each stage differs significantly from the one before it even though transition from one stage of life to another is gradual.
Current Life Stage
The stage of life I am currently occupying is the Young Adult stage. I am in fact an Early Young Adult at the age of twenty-two. I am presently enrolled in a master's program in university and in the process of completing my education, working part time as I plan for my long term career. Due to my current financial situation I am under some degree of financial pressure.
Future Vision Life Stage
Future vision is essential for every stage in an individual's life, since each stage is distinct and requires a distinct set of plans. However, I feel that the stage in my life which is the most critical for planning is the Middle Age. This stage is most appropriate to construct a future vision for because concentrating on this phase will not only allow me to meet goals I plan for that time period, but also to work ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

My Vision regarding Proper Education

... that carries a proper vision. I have always been skeptical about the way education is commoditized in recent times. Many of my friends think in terms of ‘investing’ in a course that will give them heavy ‘returns’. I am shocked to find out that they really use the marketing terms in a materialistic way. They tend to forget the fact that educational investment is a moral one, complete with al the information, knowledge and wisdom that are part of it. No one seems to think of the spiritual returns involved in the act of sharing knowledge for the common good. On the contrary they forget about the moral aspects of handling knowledge and restrict the benefits of their education for mere personal gains. My vision regarding proper...

Women in American Politics: Past and Future Challenges

The official political role of women in the colonial period was not definite at all. Political rights were founded profoundly on ascribed status such as birthrights and on achieved status such as property. Religion also contributed in determining who could and could not play a part in politics. There was no steady and widespread difficulty in the participation of women in political life, yet only a small number of women voted in England and North American colonies, and hardly any women participated in politics to the degree of putting into effect political influence (ibid). In reality, the minority had any public office at all in England, and no women can be recognized as holding elective political office in the colonies.
It...

Animal instincts are directed towards self-preservation and it is the law of nature that a stronger and healthier individual has more chances of living than his weaker counterpart. The survival of the fittest has now been established as a ground reality according to Darwinian philosophy. If we eliminate our civilized thought process, it emerges as a stark reality that we would not desist from attacking another living person or animal when we are overcome by the basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing. In times of natural disasters like earthquakes, wars and floods, and manmade disasters like war, it is not uncommon to witness ravaged populations shedding the façade of civilization and resorting to violence in order to fu...

Strategic Pay and Organizational Behavior

Both, Performance-related pay (PRP), as well as  Payment by Results (PBR), are based on the notion that if a worker can vary output by increasing his efforts, the hope of increased pay will lead him to perform his best. Both methods can be applied to an individual as well as a group level. Below is a critical comparison of the two:
Defined in simplest of terms, payment by results can be defined as the scheme of paying incentives in which, the bonus or the variable portion of the payment will be dependent on measurable values of outputs, within studied time limits.

Advantages: The primary advantage of this scheme is the inducement and motivation of workers for higher efficiency and great output. It is better th...

Freuds The Future of an Illusion

There is a need, however, to prove or disprove Freud’s contention against religion because to perpetuate that ‘illusion’ blindly without ascertaining its truth or falsity is living in hope under a lie. Fortunately, psychologists and historians, contemporary to and subsequent to Freud, had offered proofs and arguments against Freud’s sweeping generalization of religion pointing to its unsoundness and perhaps, falsity.

In his book The Future of an Illusion, Sigmund Freud referred to religion as an illusion. Illusion, according to him, is fundamentally underpinned by human wishes as opposed to an error being essentially a consequence of mistake (213). Religion is an illusion because it is founded up...

Leadership Vision and Strategic Direction

... the mission statements and strategic plans (Northouse, 2012). Despite his vast focus on the leadership vision, Don Brecken does not offer immense support on the strategic direction of the organization. He does not highlight the need for the leader to play as the employees’ role model and lead them towards goal achievement through setting the pace. From my perspective, the organization’s head should be at the front in the quest for organizational success. The title “leader” refers to being ahead and showing the employees what to do by example. The leader is in charge of the company’s success or its failure. The leader determines the direction followed by the employees in their goal achievement quest. Without the leader’s directory...
