? Influence Leadership and Personal Development Reflective Portfolio Resume I am Susane Venegas. I have completed my MA in Strategic Marketing from the University of Greenwich in the academic year ranging from 2910 to 2011. Besides general education I am also interested in learning foreign languages and am an active member of the language club. The membership of the language club has helped me in gaining expertise in foreign languages like French and Spanish. Further I am also proficient with the information technology aspects and have expertise in software like Microsoft Office and also on special software named StatePro Property software. The above knowledge has helped in enhancing my productivity and efficiency in dealing with several subjects. Gaining efficiency in terms of both theoretical and practical knowledge has helped me in sharpening my business and communication skills. In addition to the above I have acquired other skill set which helps me achieve targets on time and also in sustaining a healthy relationship with the client base of the concern. Again speaking on the above note I feel encouraged in working together in a collaborated fashion within a team framework for the successful accomplishment of multifarious and multidimensional business objectives. My working with different organisations for a span of four years in profiles like marketing and sales assistants and also as negotiators has helped in enhancing my expertise in delivering projects in a highly professional manner. The above facts have thereby augmented my dynamism and endeavour to deliver better in the professional framework and help in the enhancement of the portfolio (Brown and Irby, 2001, p.15; Zuzelo, 2007, p.10). Highlights – Work done The work highlights are presented hereunder in a historical fashion starting from the financial year 2006-2007 which would help in the portfolio management (Knoerr and McDonald, n.d.; Jafari and Kauffman, 2006, p.87). Work highlights are used to enhance the dimension of reflective portfolio through the presentation of evidences and a critical analysis of the work path (Smith and Tillema, 2005, p.15; Loughran, 2005, p.815). During that period I was employed with Mundi Color Holidays as a Sales Manager where my area of responsibilities constituted of the following activities. I had to regularly update the agencies in regards to changes in the commission levels and also in gaining access to other agencies. Further I was also required to update the information gathered in the computer and also in helping to fill up the vouchers and also arrange for the proper despatch of old people travelling over to Spain. In that I acted as the liaison between the managerial bodies of the concern and the client base and rendered important feedback based on client interface. During the period ranging from 2007 to 2008 I acted as the Lettings Negotiator in Orchild Properties which is an Estate Agency. In that through the help of software like Estatepro and a website named findpropetty.com I effectively carried out the sales and marketing activities through which different promotions relating to property were raised. Apart from finding and promotion of the different properties I also through the use of information technology helped to enhance the presentation aspects of the new properties. The company’s website was vividly used for the above purpose along with creation of window displays for the same. Finally I was also entrusted to conduct the bookings for the above properties and also in administering the entire letting process. From November 2008 to 2009 I worked as the Senior Negotiator in Manolia Homes. In this concern I worked in the management of contracts protecting the rights of both the landlord and the tenant. Further I also carried on effective negotiation with the tenants and rendered the feedback to the team so as to chalk out plans for the meeting of targets based on weeks and months. Customer interaction and complaint management were carried out by me with also efficiently administering the letting in program to such properties. As a senior negotiator in Manolia Homes I had also to carry out liaison with corporate bodies and with clients of serviced apartment in an effective manner to help the concern earn the maximum revenues. Further I was also entrusted to manage the database of the different properties and details pertaining to the different landlords in the Estatepro software. In the role of senior negotiator I was also required to effectively present before the clients the data pertaining to the different properties and help in successfully meeting of sales and purchase transactions. Finally from June 2010 to 2011 I worked as the Marketing Assistant with Community Network. There I carried out delivering administrative duties in close collaboration with the marketing team of the company. Further the Public Relation activities were carried out both on the physical and virtual plane by me that helped in enhancing the brand image of the concern. Other marketing activities pertaining to telemarketing and promotional activities were also carried out by me to enhance the market base of the concern. In addition to the above marketing activities I was also entrusted to help in the promotion and organisation of special events both within and outside the periphery of London. The networking activities of the concern were further stressed to enhance the potential of the concern to help compete with its competitors effectively. Individual Reflection- Reflection on education and assignments Past Being an MA in Strategic Marketing, I have done a number of works on the subject. One of my works included a project titled “International Marketing Plan 2011”. This was a project based o strategic marketing and included making a development and marketing plan for St. Joseph primary school. The paper probed into the internal and the external environment of the company for making an analysis of the suitability of the market for undertaking expansion operations. According to the study of the market, the project has allowed me to learn the various market conditions and the strategies which befit those conditions. It has allowed me to develop my skills and expertise in marketing through the application of theories and techniques. Also project was conducted under strict guidelines and time frame. This has made me capable of working under tough schedules and guidelines and made me more punctual too. My works on strategic marketing included making logical moves and strategies that best suited the company’s interests. This has generated and ingrained and encourages me explore further into the subject (Proctor, 2000, p.2). The course influence leadership and management has helped me to make greater progress in my career and helped me become better leader. Today I can successfully lead a team of 5 members, which was not confident of prior to the course. I have also evolved as a better and confident speaker and can present a speech in front of the public without hesitation. Leadership and management have been two of the key areas of my learning during my MA studies. AT the start of the course I lacked confidence to make public presentations and voice my opinion in public. The course has helped me to overcome the problem and made me a better speaker, leader and manager. These skills have helped me gain career prospects for working in the marketing industry. One of my other important works was an individual report titled “Achieving customer orientation using people-power, the 5th P”. This article primarily focussed on the aspects of human resource in the organization. The idea was to develop the skills and knowledge of its human resource team to enable them to deliver the best quality of service to its customers and contribute as being valuable assets in the organization (Armstrong & Baron, 2002, p.15). While doing the article I primarily came to know about the different marketing concepts and the main aims of marketing too. It has taught me to be a valuable employee in the organization and taught me deliver valuable service to my customers. The different ways of attaining customer satisfaction by the delivery of quality services has been my primary learning which I consequently applied in my subsequent projects (Cochran & Cochran, 2003, p.2). From this project I have learnt the basic tools and concepts of marketing. The concepts of market differentiation and marketing and product mix are clear to me, based on which I can successfully develop marketing strategies for products in companies. I have gained knowledge on the different product differentiation strategies like product packaging, style, logo, name, features, availability etc which I can successfully apply to attract and attain customers’ interest and loyalty (Magin, 2006, p.111). My first work experience was in Mundi Color Holidays, which developed my skills of updating the agencies such as changing commissions and opening of new agencies too. My job included entering data into the computer filling up the hotel vouchers. This has also made me computer savvy and efficient in managing administrative activities. Despatching of new citizens to Spain was part of my activity also which has helped me gain expertise in methods of coordination. To summarise it, my administrative skills, negotiating and coordinating skills have grown with this job experience. My next experience was with Lettings Negotiator Orchild Properties, an estate agency. Here my duties included providing to the sales and marketing team for the promotion of properties through Estatepro and findaproperty.com. This was marketing and sales and included making promotions for the company’s products and services. It also required me to keep the company’s website updated with the launch of new products and services. It also required me to interact with clients for explaining to them the company’s offerings and convincing them. It has helped me improve my communication skills and my convincing capabilities. Today I am better as a negotiator and I can easily negotiate with people and convince them too (Cohen, 2002, p.3). As a senior negotiator in Manolia Homes, I managed a team with which I was required to meet monthly targets. This improved by ability to work under pressure and tight schedules. Present Presently I am working as a Marketing Assistant, providing assistance to the marketing team in their day to day administrative activities. My prior experience in sales and marketing has allowed me to apply the different concepts in this job. I make a perfect telemarketing coordinator in this company and have attained success in the same. I assist in the organization of the promotional events of the company. This is where I can harness my talent as a marketing professional and apply the various marketing concepts which I had previously learnt in the course activities and jobs. My expertise has especially developed on my interaction with customers, suppliers and clients (Bryson & Daniels, 2007, p.329). I excel in my job in interacting with them and earning their loyalty and goodwill through the provision of good quality services. Future I would like to explore more into the field of marketing and sales. Through the experience and knowledge that I have gained over the years, I would like to apply them to the fullest and to the best of my abilities in my future endeavours. These experiences would allow me to apply them when I would be in a position of a Marketing Manager. My primary expertise lies in managing people and getting the best services out of them. It makes me a good team player and a team leader too. Having developed my coordinating and collaborating skills, I make a good coordinator of events and activities.
