Surprisingly women themselves are to be blamed partly for this malaise as when they achieve prominence they tend to follow the perceptions and machination of men and do not promote their own abilities.The research concluded that indeed the culture of the organisation was the main barrier for women. In addition lack of proper training as well as the lack of desire to continue at the top has been the main causes for the absence of women in a responsible position in the FM industry.There have been some other researches and observations that suggest a more comprehensive survey be carried, perhaps with the help of national media to find out the actual causes of this phenomena.

This will be able to determine the situation more accurately and will also help to mobilise opinion on whether active participation of the women at the top is desirable and required. This being an important issue, it has been recommended, since it is far beyond the capability of this paper.As we move into the 21st-century evidence shows that there is more diversity in the workplace than ever before. Women currently represent nearly half of the overall workforce in the United Kingdom; regardless of this fact, the proportion of women managers in senior positions does not reflect their composition in the workforce.

In spite of Equal Opportunity legislation having been in place for over 30 years and the increased investment in higher education that coupled with the dramatic increase in the number of working women in the past two decades, women are still not making it in large numbers into senior management levels. This phenomenon is generally the case across the board within the UK workforce irrelevant of occupation, it appears that the higher the rank, prestige or power, the smaller the proportion of women at that level.
