Persuasion on Technology Adaption Mobility is one factor that needs to be considered by everyone when it comes to offices in the modern society. It is important to go anywhere but still keep in touch with the rest of the people to be up to date with current news. Manufacturers have made it a point to consider mobility as one of the factors while manufacturing their devices. Some of the devices that fall under mobile technology include eBooks, tablets, Smartphone and laptops. Laptops are simple wonders since they allow the owner to work from anywhere and anytime to beat the deadlines of various office tasks. In modernizing offices, it is important that management acquires laptops for their employees to ease the pressure of rushing to offices. Desktop computers have good quality and are relatively cheap compared to the laptops. As much as the desktops are cheap, laptops give the advantage of being mobile to enable a complete employee work at their free times. Sometimes power shortages lead to companies losing important data that can be saved on laptops. If the employees are equipped with laptops they can easily complete their work and respond to the questions clients may have even before getting to the office. Desktops can be upgraded over time to ensure that they function properly and are up to date. Desktops contain graphic processing programs, motherboards video cards, and RAM that can easily be replaced in case they have a fault. The laptops can also be upgraded to ensure their hardware is functioning properly. They can also use detachable hardware to store data and other software for backup if needed. Upgrading a laptop is also easier since it can be carried and repaired from any place. Desktops demand that they have to be repaired from the offices, and this may be expensive. If they have to be carried by the technicians, it will be necessary to look for means of transporting them. The laptops only need to be put in a handbag and taken for repair. Desktops are believed to provide comfort to the user with the fact that one can acquire the keyboard, mouse and other devices to attach to it easily. Laptops provide better comfort since one can use them even while lying down. Unlike desktops the laptops do not need extra space for the mouse. Even while lying down at home an employee can still complete the work given to avoid the overloads that come with keeping work for a long time. One can purchase a laptop that suits their needs and not necessarily accepting it the way it comes. Desktops require that one sits in an upright position to be able to use them efficiently. The employees are better off with the laptops that can suit their work. Employees with simple tasks can have those with less RAM while those with big workloads can get the sophisticated ones. Desktops can be put in specific places for use and may not frequently be moved to avoid them from being spoilt. According to Stam, Stanton and Guzman (2006), laptops are mobile and in case a desktop or laptop that is being used for printing or scanning fails, it is easy to get another one and try to check the fault. Besides, laptops give a wider range of options in case there is a problem in the office. The desktops in office do not give alternatives when there is a fault in any of them. Most of the times employees have no choice when a desktop fails, and an urgent task is supposed to be performed yet there is no laptop in the office. The employees should be provided with laptops to avoid the mishaps that come with faulty desktops. Desktops can be put in one place in the office and will not be moved for a long time to ensure that they do not inconvenience staff members. It is true that desktops stay in one place where they are operated from, but they take up big space.Laptops consume little space, and this helps in minimizing the space used while keeping the offices neat. In the current society renting is very expensive and the ability to use little space is an advantage to the office. A space that takes one desktop can be used for two laptops Employees need laptops to ensure they have a well-organized environment that is smart. Desktops are meant to stay in one place, and this means they cannot be stolen easily. These computers can be in one place since they are bulky. The laptops are mobile, and this is to ensure that in times when the employees have workshops to attend, they can easily carry them and take notes. The notes can be shared in the office among employees. The employees should be given laptops to help them when they are going to conferences and seminars. The current technology allows them to share files with the use of wi-fi among the attendants (Andriole, 2009). Desktops can be used freely in the office without fear of anyone using them for their personal work. Laptops can be used for the in terms in the office that needs to move from one office to another while learning new things. Desktops cannot be moved from one place to another easily, and this means they cannot be of help to the interns. The employees need to be equipped with laptops to ensure they share with the interns who come to the office. A user profile can be created to ensure that the workers share files that are necessary for the office. Desktops can store large files that can be business presentations and need to have an update making them large files. Laptops, on the other hand, can be carried to business forums and seminars to be used for presentation (Cross and Miller, 2009).When one has business projects that need to be projected, there is a need to have a laptop to show as you explain the ideas. If employees get laptops, they can even learn how to present projects, and this can improve the image of a company. In conclusion, the use of laptops by employees in office is of great advantage to the company and the individuals as well. Laptops are portable, and the employees can use them even when they are home to avoid the work delay that is experienced from the use of desktops. Laptops are small, and this gives the workers a smart office since they can occupy a small space, this saves the cost of renting big offices. Laptops can help employees in learning various skills from others since one can carry a computer to go and ask about something. The laptops give employees a chance to have an office that is neat and well coordinated since if there is a breakdown of any of the computers, another one can be used to perform the same task. Employees should be equipped with laptops to ensure they carry out their work easily. References Andriole, S. J. (2009).
