He tells us about the story of his life and his two friends Jeff who is an aspiring painter and musician, and Digby who is a rich brat studying in Cornell. The story is set in an era when moral values and ethics are mostly undermined. The main character, Hamlet, is seen as brave, daring, intelligent, and loyal, but falls hard because of his thoughts. His inability to internalize the murder of his father, and then his mother's abrupt marriage contribute heavily to his mental instability. In addition, his uncle taking over the throne contributes to his mental situation.
