The Ice Cream Store by Tough Situation Tough Situation The craziness of the taste buds is too strong to resist temptation. Human beings are supposed to be the crown of creation. In this story the man is so crazy about the animal protein that he does not care that he is shooting an old and defenseless buck. The author writes, “The buck was so old he didn’t have any teeth, he couldn’t see, and he didn’t even hear the pick-up door slam shut.”(p.6, n. d)Yet he was cruelly shot for the sake of enjoyment by human beings.

The true merit of the civilization of the people of a country is judged by the style of their disposition towards animals and birds. When a piece of steak slipped under the knife and fell down on the floor the dog had no problems with it. The author writes, “He swallowed it whole and seemed to enjoy it immensely.”(p.6, n. d.) It is scientifically proved that as per the laws governing the food chain meat is not an ideal food item for the human beings and it is the proper food for carnivores animals like dogs.

As such the dog had no problems in eating it and enjoyed its lucky bounty immensely. The issue is meat is not proper food for the human teeth, meaning, they are not properly equipped to chew it, is further corroborated by the experience of the man as he admits, “I noticed I was making the same sounds as a horse does when it chews.” This essay gives the lessons about the desirably of more humane treatment to birds like ducks, and for the sake of proteins, their merciless killing should not be carried out.

Longer Essay The Ice Cream Store: A World of “Busy-Ness.” Not long ago an Ice Cream Store was supposed to be the wonderland of mainly children in which the elders also participated. Ice-cream is the darling of the children eats. It is their world of temptation. Presently ice-cream is the favored food for all age-groups. The essay under review describes that position beautifully, how people of different categories pick and choose their combination of ice-creams and elaborates what is cool and hot about today’s ice-ream market.

An Ice Cream Stores is like a community where people of divergent tastes make a happy association, with the common interest of tasting different varieties of fabulous ice-creams. For the enthusiastic children there cannot be a better place, to test their taste-buds and they are almost uncontrollable with their demands for various varieties of ice-creams. As for the response of children, the author describes the ambience within the ice cream store thus: “A scurrying. Chocolate-covered five year old, holding a drippy cone, trips over my feet, gives me a chocolate grin, and then darts off.”(p.13, n. d.)About the attitude of youngsters, their love for the ice-cream is sensitively described, “A couple, arm-in-arm, lovingly trade dripping cones, sampling one another’s flavors.”(p.13, n. d.) As articulated in the essay, ice-cream unites the society.

The beginning of the essay, the majestic description explains the grandeur of the ice-cream store. The author writes, “The largest machine, square and menacing, sits like a king, in all its sparkling silver, as it dominates the entire room.”(p. 12, n. d.)On a careful scrutiny of the classes/age-groups of customers, there is a good scope for research scholars like economists, sociologists and psychologists. The example of two young females who engage in a discussion and take a long time to arrive at the choice of the ice-cream that they are going to buy indicates the current mood and application of the combustible younger generation of the modern times.

Price is a major factor with the buyers. The essay portrays a beautiful picture within the ice-cream shop and the enthusiasm of the ice-cream eaters. How the first spoonful of the cold stuff at once melts on the taste buds of the customers. The rich and minty taste is liked by all, and once you are inside the ice-cream parlor, the temptation to buy a new tub is difficult to resist. The words like, yummy, frozen, delicious, creamy, soft, sweet etc. are liberally exchanged by the groups and customers in the ice-cream parlor.
