Introduction The comparative analysis are done and performed in order to figure out similarities and contrasts in two or more objects, art-pieces and the list of comparative studies’ subjects is intensive but the technique is also used in the detailed empirical studies in social sciences when two or more groups are compared with each other (Blau, 902). The comparative studies are valuable in terms of training people in the art and science of identifying commonalities and differences in wide range of subjects and this skill comes in handy in criminology, entrepreneurship and wide range of other professional areas. Big Bear of Arkansas and Big Fish collectively highlighted the importance of leaders with respect to their ability of inspiring greatness in others and sometimes they have to brag in order to do that as the character of father in Big Fish and Big Bear of Arkansans did about hunting down a massive big catfish and big bear respectively. The featured comparative analysis includes comparing two of the greatest works that in spite of having different mediums successfully conveyed the same message to the audience (Gamson, Croteau Hoynes and Theodore, 375). Additionally, the works reminded artists about the fact that there are different types of viewers out in the world and therefore, various mediums of art should be used in order to convey the same messages (Hobbs, 29). The Indian film industry is notorious for exactly copying the concepts of Hollywood movies and producing pictures for the local population of India. However, the counter argument is presented in the favor of featured practice that establishes that localizing the idea is not a crime (Syamalamma and Mohan, 29) because the original concept was created for a specific audience and as producers of the original film do not want to enter in the local market of India so indigenous film industry can modify the message and communicate it in a localized way. Countless ideas have already been localized in order to be communicated in different parts of the world. The whole idea behind conveying the same idea through different channels is to enlighten as many people as possible. Knowledge did not belong to any race, religion and social community but it is for the entire humanity and everyone has the right to know (Boulton and Panizzon, 479). The globalized world has made it easy and simple for people to acquire knowledge and information. The books and movies are available for the masses to download on the internet. The developed economies are growingly emerging as knowledge generating systems (Rosario and Ovalle, 121) and that is why, their prime focus remains on creation of new knowledge and after doing so they spread it in the rest of the world. The books are traditional, conventional and simple way of letting the masses know about new things such novel lifestyles, philosophies and scientific discoveries and because of these reasons, written texts were used as a dominant technique of spreading knowledge in the past times (Rist, 82) but nowadays, advanced and cheap methods of filmmaking have caused showbiz to transform into leading method of comminuting ideas in the modern era of the 21st century (Cape, 164) where educational facilities are known to show movies to students on a frequent basis in order to help their learning process. Modern movies are often found to have their roots and stems in historical texts of Bible and the works of Aristotle also inspired numerous artworks of the present day. The works entitled “Big Bear of Arkansas and Big Fish” were created to highlight the importance of leadership and leaders regarding their ability and power to inspire greatness in others and how legends can help others in the process of finding greatness in themselves. Both of the works have been known to involve a storyteller whose stories impressed people a great deal and that is the essence of leadership. The leader is not necessarily expected to remain truthful to his or her followers all the time but he or she must become a legend in which people should believe. The leadership literature often says that a man who firmly believes in a fake Lord is much better than the one who follows a real one with weakness. At the end of the day, what matters is one’s belief as it is stated in Bible that if one wants something then he or she must visualize him or herself having it and then it will become a matter of time before he or she can really have it. According to modern psychology, human mind is like a magnet and therefore, it attracts one’s dominant thoughts and translates them into concrete and tangible realities in life. In the film “Big Fish” a father told his son stories about the greatest adventures where the elder made great many friends and a few foes as well. Father consequently created an urge of seeing the forests in personality of the son and ultimately he became a journalist whose only purpose was to find the world about which his father talked about in the stories. Father added the color of realism by saying “The Beast’s journey takes it past a dangling fish hook, baited with worms. Past a tempting lure, sparkling in the sun. Past a swiping bear claw. The Beast isn’t worried” about a big and bloody catfish (Finney, Big Fish). Secondly, the heroic hunter in the story of “Big Bear of Arkansas” planted the desire to hunt down great preys in fellowmen. The junior hunters were presented with the possibility of having great hunts in life and the conceptual picture of the forest relished them about what lies in the future. The junior hunters were made to believe that there lie great preys in the jungle and only they are required to search them and hunt them down in order to make their names invincible in the pages of history. Again, the old hunter created an urge to have great feasts amongst his fellowmen as father created an expectation of upcoming memorable future in his son in the movie called “Big Fish”. Nobody knew about the truthfulness of tales told by the two storytellers but what mattered that the ability of the listeners to believe in them in order to become greats in what they do. The strength of implanting a positive belief is also highlighted as leader’s prime duty and the central characters of the two works material to this review remained quite successful in doing that. Human need to be motivated and encouraged for taking up painful tasks is highlighted in both of the works. People do not change and inspire to become something better than their current state unless they find some benefit attached with the new way of living. The father in the movie created an urge to see the forest in the personality of his son by telling him stories about the great adventures and same was accomplished by the old hunter as he motivated his fellowmen to go and hunt down the great bear in the forest as he did in his heyday and he backed up and added touch of realism to his tales by saying “may I be chewed to death by young alligators” (Thorpe, 108) and these sorts of phrases made stories more realistic to the listeners. Conclusion This review and analytical paper worked on two art-pieces in order to spot similarities and contrasts between them. Nevertheless, what it found was similarity because both of the works material to it had been produces in order to highlight the importance of storytelling in the process of becoming a successful leader.
