James Wright usually spoke to the fears and grievances of America from its treasures and turmoil. Everything from nature could be his topic with intellectual attributions to animate natural things to reach the core of their beauty and attachment to a human being. This poem has its name ‘Complaint’ with a sensible parameter applied in naming eminent word works. This verse shows the author’s feelings for his spouse on and off her presence. Her motherhood is highlighted with added effects of a natural mother.

The lines “Now morbid boys have………dress” show the influence of her motherhood on the children. She was truly a mother teacher, the one who showed her children better ways of living. The lines, “What arm will……. hungry dogs” explicit the inseparable role of a mother at home. This poem though simple and small gives a very good message to the readers with a breeze of comfort and a passionate feeling for their beloved ones; more accurately saying, it wraps up our heart with the loveliest feeling of nostalgia.
