While discussing several stalking cases and violent behaviour, the review mentions that recent studies have provided a general rate of violence as 38.7%. Most of them include the damages of substance abuse, the presence of threats and psychotic disorders. Also the results of all these case studies are discussed along with their strategies of risk assessments and future recommendations. The material produced in the literature review is useful in the sense that it provides complete research by linking violence to social settings and then to the context of criminology. It also generates the conclusions and results of the study using the multivariate model and analyzing the effects of variables on the subjects.

The topic of the study is worth agreeing that stalking and other such activities mostly relate to an extreme consistency in physical abuse and substance threats. Violent crimes such as homicide, sexual assault and other felonious assaults are said to be more offensive than mere stalking for the reason that they are much more heinous and inhumane than just stalking. When it comes to the discussion of stalking and other obsessive cases in the field of psychology, the subjects are mostly related to mental disorders, disturbed personal lives and the conviction of victims to the committed of crimes. The same concepts have been presented in the cases taken up in this article. Thus, the absolute applicability of the titles and concepts under discussion has been discussed (Rosenfeld, 2004).

Perez writes another elaboration on stalking, mental disorder and disturbed personality in his article and relates it to the subject of criminology by basing it on the relative ground realities. He explicitly describes the real-life examples of people whose stalking obsession made them become criminals and the victims of many more disorders. According to him, the severity and hazards of violence in the cases of partner violence have been increasing with time, which sometimes, may result into physical harm to each other. According to him, not even all the victims of violence experience threats. And that, the stalkers who might prove to be truly dangerous, may not threaten their victims directly.

The discussion and research undertaken in the article are beneficial for people studying criminology because it talks about stalking, which has become one of the biggest reasons for people indulging in crimes worldwide. Perez makes it even more reliable by presenting the background of stalking and then, experts’ opinions on the subject. Then, he discusses the traits and features of the stalkers, their victims and their sources of protection. All this information can assist the field of criminology in an attempt t illustrate its studies. The relevance of the discussion with the subject of criminology can be discussed by the fact that it goes on to present the discussion and the elaborations in the form of a scientific study of the criminal behaviours which is generally present in both, society and in the individual. Moreover, while presenting, it includes all the causes and consequences of the crimes and violence which is most likely to be undertaken due to violence.

The review has been the source of agreement for many people directly related to the research work being done in the field of criminology. This is due to the reason that it presents a full-fledged informative text for them along with thoroughly discussed and elaborated examples with a view of criminology. Thus, it becomes obvious that there is a strong linkage between the elements of obsession and stalking with the crimes and their harsh consequences for society. Moreover, the review presented by Perez has also become an updated source of knowledge and information for future researchers who have been attempting to inculcate his knowledge into their works for further investigation and study. Hence, the significance of the discussion has become stronger in its association with the field of criminology (Perez, 1993).
