Senator Michael F. Nozzolio Michael Nozzolio is the New York Senator in charge of the 54th district that incorporates the cities of New York, Geneva Auburn and counties like Ontario, Wayne Cayuga and Seneca he has been in office as the senator for the past 2 years after being reelected into office. Senator Nozzolio belongs to the Republican Party (Peters and Hakim), first elected in 1992 into the New York state assembly where he was a representative of Cayuga and Seneca counties. Currently he oversees the operations of the New York Senate Codes Committee as its chairman and the vice chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.

He also serves in the Senate finance and Senate Rules Committees, meaning that he and his colleagues have power over the budget of the State (Nozzolio) . Senator Nozzolio has over the past years been an active participant in the House of Senate, proposing bills and being involved in passing of these bills. For Example, in January 2014, he voted against the bill to implement and enforce a secure ammunition and firearms team. This bill was passed by the house. In May 30th 2013, Senator Nozzolio proposed a bill to the Senate House, the bill proposed an act to amend the law on environmental conservation.

The motion brought forward touched on the authorization of hunting in the Wayne County (United state snate). He proposed that the Senate should revoke such an authorization once it expires in 2015 so that that part of the law is not renewed. Senator Nozzolio and other 61 members of the house voted yes to such an amendment and the bill was passed. Senator Nozzolio during elections made a commitment that he would enhance the job-producing small businesses project. He is now encouraging citizens to involve themselves in the small businesses and promote the already established ones by shopping at local businesses.

He thus designated a Saturday called, “Small Business Saturday” where the locals and their leaders come together to acknowledge and appreciate the small enterprises that have been established locally to encourage people to shop locally (Nozzolio). He had also promised that he would try and reduce the burden tax payers have to carry to keep the country running. Therefore he has over the years been committed strongly to fulfilling this election promise. The previous the senator stated that there has been formation of a new move by the Senate to create jobs and mitigate the burden taxpayers have to carry.

Senator Nozzolio was born and bred in Seneca County, and served in the senate for quite a long time. This gave him an advantage over his other counterparts and he was able to receive a 70% percent vote that oversaw lengthening of his term in office. The senate’s main promise during the elections was to reduce the burden taxpayers have to carry. This he has tried to achieve over the years by encouraging residents to start small enterprises, for example establishing the small business Saturday to enhance local markets.

This means that he has not broken any of his election promises.
