Patients care has enabled formation of organizations and coming up with different strategies that mainly aim in making sure that patients are well handled as they are treated in the hospitals. In the governments, organizations have been formed at the health ministries and departments such that the policies that are put in place are well monitored. Partnership for patients initiatives have been formed to make, improve the quality, safety and making healthcare affordable for those in America. The initiative is concerned with measuring and reporting on reduction in health care conditions (Beekman, 2001). Through this the handling of patients increases making medication of quality. Patient and family engagement is formed at the ministry of health in the government branch. The initiation also aims in improving the conditions of health that patients undergo. In the initiative there is time that is given to a family to have with a patient to ensure that there is priority in the questions and issues that the patients have. Nurses in their operations are to consider the policy and ensure that one is able to get most of the time that one has together with the patient. There is offer of free resources that one is able to use with the others and ensure that all is shared with the patient (McKinney, 2005). This increases safety of patients in the hospital. Patients’ safety is an important aspect in dealing with patients mostly by the nurses. Governments and organization came up with patient measure tools and resources. Information about this policy aims in minimizing the errors that occur in the protection of patients. When these errors are reduced, nurses always take care in all the activities that they carry out towards the patients. This reduces the risk that the patients are exposed to due to mishandling of equipment by the nurses. Agency for Healthcare research and Quality have also provided pharmacy health literacy center that provide pharmacist with the recent knowledge on health tools making them to make improvements in their prescription and thus increase in the safety that patients undergo (Brown, 2005). Agency for Healthcare research and Quality with the goal of supporting the safety of patients through close supervision of activities of nurse improves quality in the national health care system. The nurses are expected to have the culture of taking care of patients in their operation. This is through reduction in the errors that are carried out by them in handling the patients. Agency for Healthcare research and Quality has improved development of patient safety through culture assessment for nursing homes, hospitals, outpatient care community pharmacies and medical offices. Quality measurement tools and resources have been focused in the way patient are cared and giving quality information that are used in taking care of patients. There has also been reduction in the infections that occur through poor healthcare to the patients and reduction of adverse drug events. In the department, nurses are expected to have given standards in their operations in handling the patients (Beekman, 2001). The guidelines that are made affect their operation and the labor that they give. Appropriate staffing of nursing is essential in strengthening the health care system hence an increase in the safety of patients. Leadership in nursing and employers must be able to address the needs of nurses in their healthcare environment from the promotion of healthcare and prevention of diseases that are able to be contacted by them when taking care of the patients. There are different focuses that are to be addresses in nursing that make their activities favorable and hence improvement in safety of the patients. Nurses are to be protected by the policies that are formed by the government. Examples of policies that have been formed are those that highlight the cost effectiveness in the programs to make sure that nurses are not able to develop complications when dealing with the patients. A successful program has the ability to improve the safety of patients and decrease the injuries and complications that nurses are able to acquire in their operations. The policies will increase the retention of nurses and also their recruitment. Injuries that occur in the operation of nurses are crucial as some may lead to termination of their career. In the same concept, when patients are not well handled, there occurs increase in the cost. Associations that have been formed such as American Nurses association always work to prevent the injuries and complications that nurses are exposed to and increase their wellbeing in their place of work through safe handling.
