Download file to see previous pages The following is a recruitment plan that will be used to recruit a qualified Assistant/Associate professor of Business Ethics for Sincere College, Faculty of Davis School of Business. The position of the job is highly regarded and thus it requires a candidate that will be able to work effectively and efficiently as per the requirements of the job description. The ability to be able to execute the operations of an Assistant/Associate professor of Business Ethics is essential for Sincere College. Sincere College of Connecticut has been a reputable institution that offers qualified learning experience in various courses over the past decade. It is located near New York City right at the foothills of the Blessed Valley Mountains. Sincere College is a reputable institution offering higher education by promoting teaching as well as learning based on a curriculum formulated under strong liberal arts. To this account, the institution is accredited by the Middle States Commission dealing with Higher Education earning high honors for exemplary performance in arts. The institution’s curriculum emphasizes sciences, liberal arts, professional programs as well as fine and performing arts within a learning and suitable living environment. Today, the institution is acknowledged for its academic excellence based on its interdisciplinary curriculum, intercultural understanding, international education, and experimental learning opportunities. We have the following vacant position that we would like to fill by selecting a qualified candidate who wishes to be a part of our professional team. Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Ethics (1 required) Job Description: The qualified candidate will teach mainly in the faculty of business particularly in business ethics. Additionally, the candidate may teach required elective courses like Perspectives of Business and Society. Education Qualifications and Experience: Qualified candidates must have a doctorate in a business-related field. However, candidates who have completed their dissertation with a stated date of completion will also be considered. Successful candidates must have some teaching experience from a college institution and research interests in the area of Business Ethics. Experience in the private sector under a for-profit organization will be highly regarded. Candidates who will demonstrate to be in possession of commendable teaching experience will have an added advantage. Faculty members must maintain active participation in college governance, research, service, academic advisement, scholarship as well and professional development activities. Compensation: Assistants/Associate professors of Business Ethics are well compensated with a combination of a highly competitive salary, attractive state benefits as well and other benefits accorded by the faculty of Business. Being recognized as a reputable employer Sincere College offers allowances to their staff such as house allowances. The position requires committed candidates as per the job requirements who will be accorded all the benefits attributed to the job. Recruitment Strategies 1. The staffing committee will concentrate all its efforts on candidates who have met the professional requirements of the position. 2. The prospective candidates will be contacted early to avoid competition from other colleges that may be carrying out recruitment in the same area. Recruitment goals: 1. To locate a diversified pool of talented applicants for the position. 2. To attract 5 qualified candidates to be vetted for the position. Applications will be completed online. Qualified candidates should provide a cover letter stating which position they are applying for and how their background and experience will be able to contribute to the intercultural/international mission of Sincere College. Deadline for Applications: 10th June 2014. Thereafter, the applications will be reviewed until the best-suited candidate for the position is selected. Sincere College is an equal employer. Recruitment Steps 1. Place advertisements in university and college newspapers. The adverts will be placed in five issues of the newspapers. These will enable candidates who are already in the profession to be aware of the position and apply for it. Estimated budget for the adverts will be $2000. 2. Place adverts in four major newspapers in the city for three days in each. This will inform more prospects of the position. The estimated budget for the adverts will be $ 2500. 3. Arrange for the College’s website to feature the advertisement of the position with immediate effect. The adverts will run till the closing date for the applications. 4. Send a mail notice to the director of the Colleges’ association in the region to put up board postings. This will pass the information about the vacant position to all the colleges in the region. 5. Arrange for advertisements to be made on three online job websites. The budget cost for this will be $ 2000. The classified adverts will be expected to run for one week. 6. Alert the faculty of the Davis School of Business Human Resource department about the need for an assistant/associate professor of Business Ethics. This will promote the urge to fill in the position within the given timeline. 7. Formulation of a recruitment panel for the interview which will comprise four members within the college’s management. The recruitment panel will consist of the head of faculty of Davis School of Business, the Human Resource manager of the department, the director of the school’s program, and one member of the college’s board. 8. The initial screening of potential candidates is to be done via telephone screening and later followed by an interview which will be conducted by the recruitment panel. Unsuccessful applicants need to be contacted either via telephone or through mail. The recruitment panel and Sincere College will ensure that they conduct proper practices in the recruitment process. All successful candidates will be evaluated in the same manner based on the fact that Sincere College is an equal employer.
