Case Study Human Resources Introduction: This particular study considers the case of SIA Corporation (SIA Corporation Case Study, n.d.) and discusses changes and obstacles associated with the organization.
Answer 1: The social forces influencing SIA Corporation to turn into a learning organization include the need for advancement with the global changes occurring in business in the industry reflecting that old fashioned styles of business are not enough for success. Politically thinking, the corporation’s position in several companies for their insurance services could be affected if knowledge and learning could not be developed. Thus this could eventually affect the economy of the company and the regions where it performs, particularly in times of economic crises.
Answer 2: In SIA, employees fear unemployment as a result of the changes. Enhanced communication is needed between the authority and the employees to make them realize the need for learning and knowledge and how their increased participation would benefit both the organization and the employees. Motivation needs to be a part of the process, suggesting that if employees are motivated and rewarded for their participation, they would be more encouraged.
Answer 3: Obstacles could be mainly in the way organizational members accept the change, since they are used to the hierarchical structure till now. Training and development measures need to take a significant role in this regard to develop the employees towards the change, with the human resources team trying to motivate the employees to accept the change.
Conclusion:
SIA needs to communicate, train and develop the employees towards the change for success.
