Unique Image of Nelson MandelaThe project on Nelson Mandela has a lot of value to me. From this great man, I learn different life lessons that are useful now and in the future. I have learned that I should never give up in life. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years of his life in prison fighting for the end of the apartheid government. He did not give up because of being in jail (Newswire 1). When he was free, he became the president of South Africa, and throughout his life; he campaigned endlessly for peace and equality.

Had he given up, probably South Africa would have been under apartheid rule up to date. Mandela inspires me from his resilience to persist hardship and adversity. Mandela faced many challenges that I cannot compare to the challenges I face in life. He, therefore, gives me the strength to face challenges with courage and being open-minded. In addition, from Mandela I learn the importance of emotion regulation. Mandela was able to keep his emotions under control. If he had let the emotions to control him, especially that time he was in prison, he would have become an angry man seeking vengeance.

Nelson Mandela bore a lot of pain for the sake of his country, thus, I have learnt the importance of empathy. Understanding and helping others is what keeps us connected. Mandela willingly suffered for his country and that is why in turn he received a lot of love from millions of people. He is an example of importance of connecting with others through his relationship with some men who would have been his enemies instead. He was a friend with Christi Brand who was his jailer and not at one time did he feel the urge to revenge.

Mandela instills in me the importance of living a life at peace with everyone and the value of forgiveness.Consequently, Nelson Mandela’s life is also important to all college students since they have a lot to learn from him. The college students are the future presidents and they need to have all the good leadership qualities Mandela had to be great leaders in history. Mandela also went to law school and it is in school that he started non-violent acts of resistance (Newswire 2). This is a good example to college students who are willing to make changes in the society.

He was set out to unite people in fighting the apartheid rule thus; students can learn the importance of unity in doing things. The project on Nelson Mandela is important in current times because we are experiencing a society filled with poverty, inequality, and suffering. All these things were among what Mandela fought tirelessly and we can learn from him that we really need to eradicate them for a better society. It motivates us to work towards putting an end to the negatives that are pulling the economy behind.

Nelson Mandela’s life is a source of knowledge from which we can learn on how to overcome violence and impunity in the government. We all need learn from nelson Mandela’s inspiring legacy on the long walk to fighting for freedom. We need to learn from his values of love, tolerance, and fairness for a better society. The current leaders need to learn from him the value of freedom and justice to work for a society that has peace and social justice. Every leader needs to copy his ways of preaching for peace to expand the economy of a nation.
