Aims of the Revolution for Robespierre - Essay Example

Robespierre was not sincere to himself and the people because he turned out to be the opposite of what the public expected of him. He wanted to succeed in his career; therefore, his speech was a justification to remove all those whom he considered as potential threats in his quest of becoming successful. He was a two-sided man because he had no strong ideologies to the principles he was advocating. His actions were totally different from his words as he did contrary things to what he advocated the public.

The rhetoric skills he used at the stage were his ploy of garnering support from the public; therefore, he justified his action by eliminating all those who opposed him in the pretense that he was performing state’s duty as the public had all consented to his views on the constituents of a good democracy (Robespierre).
