Extract of sample "The Process of Weight Loss"

Sampling strategies are well adjusted in this study. This study requires a keen study since the glucostatic and metabolism theories would coincide with the ideal theory quoted for this context. This study does not manifest biases that may diminish its accuracy. This study lacks a clear hypothesis statement. “Changes made in a diet are independent of changes in physical activity during weight loss.” This would be the ideal hypothesis. The Metabolism theory would guide this study. Choosing this theory and the hypothesis would make this study more accurate, clear, and authentic.

The sampling is also ambiguous since the researcher does not quote the total number of individuals represented (CL Dunn, 2006). It is difficult to determine whether the sample is large or small. There is bias in the sampling since the women are many than men by a substantial margin. Evidently, the sample was not chosen randomly and this leads to exaggerated predictions and findings. The hypothesis is not stated, and it does not link with the theory. There is no other theory that has a probability to give the same recommendations for this study.

Biasness of the sample would lead to error in this study.  An ideal research design requires a clearly stated hypothesis. The hypothesis is a statement that dictates the course of the research. In this case, the data obtained in the research should either prove or nullify the hypothesis. The hypothesis of this research should have taken a declarative nature. “Waiting impairs the process of weight loss.” This should have been the hypothesis for the research findings to prove or nullify it.

In this study, the glucostatic theory would be a recommendable reference. This study, therefore, requires a clear statement of the hypothesis, and a direct link between the study and the glucostatic theory. The sampling strategy is also ambiguous (Glenn, 2012). Research should not choose a very small sample. This creates a large probability of error. A large sample would also lead to recurring figures hence tampering with the frequency and the mode of the research. However, the distribution is outstanding due to the existence of both genders (Glenn, 2012).

This research does not link with the hypothesis. There is no other theory that would coincide with the recommended one. Articulations in this study are not biased. The key challenge is in the hypothesis formulation and relating it to the study.
