The paper "Global Competitive Status and CSR Management - Britvic Plc " is a perfect example of a finance and accounting research paper. Britvic Plc founded in the nineteenth century was a British Vitamins Product Company in Chelmsford market place, Essex. However, in 1971, this company changed its name to Britvic. This business started as a small home business operating from a chemist shop. Later, the company introduced a range of flavors including lemonade, tonics, and mineral water among other non-alcoholic drinks.

However, Ralph Chapman the owner of this company started the production of the company’s current juices in 1938. Chapman felt the need to produce cheaper drinks for his poor customers after the UK’s Great Depression. He felt the need for poor customers to access vitamin C, and he looked for a healthy way to preserve the juice. For ease of transport, the company bottled the juice in small quantities and by 1949; this company launched this brand into the market. After the Second World War, Britvic established its modern factory in Chelmsford, and by 1986, it merged with Canada Dry Rawlings becoming Britvic Soft Drinks.

Later the company bought Tango and franchised 7UP and Pepsi. By 1995, the company acquired Robinsons and by 2000, Orchid Drinks. By 2002, the company acquired both the Irish and UK rights for the Red Devil energy drink, and currently, it is the second-largest supplier of soft drinks after Coca Cola. Why Britvic is InterestingBritvic is the leading non-carbonated health drinks supplier and the second carbonated soft drink supplier. This company has proved capable of introducing a wide range of flavors of soft drinks in the market, unlike any other company.

Its historical background especially its origin makes the company quite interesting. On the other hand, Britvic Plc’s tremendous growth makes everyone want to study its case study (Pringle& Field 2008 p.64). The following graph is a testimony to the company’s revenue statement. The market competition remains quite high due to globalization and the aim of this study is to identify Britvic Plc’s external competitive forces by analysing how the company handles the competition.
