The median values of turnover for Micro, Small, Medium and large industries are £420,839, £608,300, £1,275,295and £1,587,901respectively. This indicates that as the more number of employees work for the industries the median values of the turnover also increases.

The Scottish Hospital Board has collected data from fourteen different hospitals to develop a regression model that could be used to predict annual total hospital expenses. Although there were a variety of factors that were related to total expenses, two factors were used for their research: the total number of beds in the hospital and the total number of admissions (per year)

The values 0.0231 and 0.6539 obtained are the coefficient of Number of Beds and Admissions respectively in the regression equation of the model. Now, if the Number of Beds is kept constant and admissions are increased, then for 1000 admissions, there will be an increase of £6.539 million in total expenses. Similarly, if Admissions are kept constant and the Number of Beds increased, then for 100 beds, there will be an increase of £2.31 million in total expenses. Therefore, the increase in Admissions plays a contribution that is more significant in total expenses.
