Personal ment My vision for the next ten years In a year’s time, I see myself working as a staff accountant in a Washington DC private company while pursuing my master’s degree in accounting. My interest in working from Washington DC is the fact that in the city, accountants are compensated highly and seldom lack a firm seeking to fill a vacant position. I will have augmented enough educational qualifications and experience to rise to a management position in a government corporation in Washington DC in five years time.

In a period of ten years, I see myself as an established accountant running my own accounting and audit consultancy firm in New York. An ethical dilemma While as a sophomore during my undergraduate studies, a friend of mine came to me seeking for advice on what to do about his supervisor. My friend worked as an accountant and he discovered that his supervisor had tricked him into giving him company funds as refund to his own money he claimed he spent entertaining a client while he had not met any client.

I advised him not to report the supervisor to the company’s top management so that to avoid trouble. If it were today, I would advise him to report the case in order to promote the values of accountability and professionalism.Extra-curricular activities My favorite extra-curricular activity is visiting and making friends. Besides socializing and passing time, this helps me to develop good interpersonal skills. I spend a lot of my free time reading newspapers, magazines, and novels and this helps me to remain current and expands my knowledge base in different fields.
