The love I have for them is so great that I cannot imagine living without them in my lives. This is the reason that once my siblings were brought into our home, I took it upon myself to take care of them and always be there for them no matter what.
The fact that the twins were not my blood siblings has never deterred me from treating them as such. When it comes to their extracurricular activities, I have always put my life aside including spending time with my friends in order to ensure I attend the activities. For example, Gregory has baseball, soccer, and wrestling and Lydia has dance, volleyball, lacrosse, and soccer. I am very proud of the fact that I have never intentionally missed even one of their games. I have always faithfully attended and even cheered them on whether they are performing well or not. There are a few occasions I remember dragging some of my friends to attend these activities as well.
They are still young and hence require a babysitter to stay home with them. I have always done the entire babysitting I can manage and have immensely enjoyed myself doing it. This is so because it gives me time to catch up with their life, learn their latest obsession as well as keenly listen to their whining which comes a lot when they do not get their way. I spend a lot of time with them when possible and I like being their role model and teaching them morals and ethics. This needs acting as a model and through actions as well which is not an entirely easy thing what with peer pressure and adolescence calling.
My siblings have always taken for granted the fact that I sacrifice a lot for them as a big brother but I have no complaints about that. The fact that I enjoy being and acting as a big brother, their guide and protector cover up for the lack of appreciation and notice on their part. I derive happiness from making them happy and this is satisfying enough. Read More

My Life, My Religion

The Bible or the hymn book was my only choices so I choose the storybook. My parents decided to allow me to read, I suppose because it kept me from sleeping or fidgeting. My interest in this very long and difficult to comprehend book grew over time as did the time invested in exploring it. I began reading at home during episodes of boredom. This experience during my early teen years changed my outlook and shaped my philosophy of life.
As I read, what I thought was important became rather meaningless. I began to develop a much different set of values than my friends, neighbors, and family. What fascinated me the most were the first four books of the New Testament. I found the words of Christ simple, to the point and ultimately a...

Changes in family life

...Changes In Family Life Talcott Parsons adopts a functionalist perspective when writing about the family, where he focuses on the functions of the family in the society, as well as the functionality of the members of the family as a unit. In his argument, Parsons identifies two functions, which are inclusive of children’s primary socialization as well as the stabilization of adult personalities within the population of the given society (Stolley 2005, 23). On his position about the changes in family life, Parsons refers to the family in the pre-industrial society and the industrial society (Janssens 2003, 83). This setting leads to some changes in the structure of the family, thereby affecting the functional aspect of it. In industrial...

Happy Family Life

...Anna Karenina, a masterpiece by Leo Tolstoy’s, has lines which claimed that all happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Many claim that there is a set of behavior for each family member that makes a family happy. Others would claim that there are no particular rules to follow in living a happy family life and one would have to just go about in their own lives figuring out what really makes their own family a happy one. I myself believe in Tolstoy and I also believe that there is a set of guidelines in living a happy family life.
