My Life in Five YearsKnowing our destination and a path to get there is important to begin a journey. Similarly, it is essential to have goals and dreams about one’s life in order to achieve them. Where we cannot control every aspect of our lives, it is important to at least have a clear idea about our aspirations and what needs to be done in order to achieve these goals. In addition to having a long-term plan, one needs to divide these plans into achieve bits such as a having five years plan.

Where my long-term about career and personal life is to own a business enterprise and have a content family life, I would like to see myself beginning a business and having it show a stable growth in five years time. Furthermore, I would like to see myself doing well on the personal front. Although it is not possible to know one’s spouse or decide how many children one may want, having an aspiration of beginning a family is what I see myself doing in five years time. I expect my life to be fairly different from now in five years time.

I see myself completing my education by doing masters in the concerned field and also have suitable specialization to begin my career. In the meanwhile, I would be planning about commencing my business and sourcing resources for it. After completing my education, I would probably seek for internship or apprenticeship that would give me practical and professional exposure to my respective field of work before actually beginning my business. I believe that it is important to know depth of the water before actually getting into it.

Therefore, this practical experience will assist me in gaining necessary perspective and hands on skills required in my field. By the end of five years, I would like to see myself starting a business and showing promising growth. In addition to my professional life, I hope that future holds good surprises for me on the personal front as well. I see myself starting a family. This does not include having children right after completing education as I would be focusing on my career at the same time.

However, getting married in the age of twenty five years seems like a viable thing to do. I strongly believe that relationships bring stability to our life. I see myself having strong ties with my family and friends now and also in future. In addition to that, I would also like to begin a charitable project for education of needy children in our community. It is important that we all pay our due share in making this world a better place for ourselves and future generations. Having a five-year plan has helped me in knowing where I see myself in future and what needs to be done in order to get there.

Although I don’t believe in micromanagement and planning every day of our life however having a blue print will assist me in investing my life, energy and resources in achieving what is important to me and what would benefit myself and those around me in future. Achieving above mentioned milestones would help me ensure that I am on the right track when it comes to my life.
