Climate change Introduction Over the last few years, people have grown to dispute the common notion presented by alarmist scientists regarding climate change, providing evidence that global warming is, indeed a hoax. Evidently, the matter is not necessarily a debate since a debate essentially defines a discussion in which opposing sides argue competitively in order to present opposing conceptions, which are presumably based squarely on honest positions and facts. However, a hoax refers to a deceptive act aimed at tricking people through the deliberate provision of misinformation and omission of facts (Bell 124). This paper will demonstrate that the issue of global warming is a hoax, which scientists are exaggerating in order to achieve a number of objectives. The central lie inherent in the global warming hoax is that the world is presently experiencing a prominent human-caused crisis affecting the climate. The claim that global warming is real centers primarily on speculative theories rather than facts. This is primarily because perpetuators of the global warming hoax base their theories on contrived data, as well as unconfirmed predictions. The evidence provided to prove the reality of global warming is, however, discovered and presented through politically corrupted processes, as well as report conclusions that are driven by corrupted agenda rendered by alleged authoritative institutions such as the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The originator of the global warming hoax was James Hansen who was the director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies and a member of NASA (Inhofe 154). Hansen presented his testimony on global warming to the US Senate in 1988, thereby starting a series of false testimonies regarding global warming. The hoax was later exaggerated by mainstream media and reports released by organizations such as IPCC in 1990, 1996 and the year 2001. Both environmentalists and weathermen increasingly make claims regarding global warming and climate change, for which they do not provide any evidence, and in some instances, such evidence is, without a doubt, fabricated. For instance, in 1996, the IPCC released a report that used selective data and manufactured graphs to enhance the view that climate change was a reality. The report also encompassed textual alterations made after scientists approved the final report before it was printed. Another prominent instance of fraud regarding the issue of global warming was the evidence provided in the publication of e-mail files recovered from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in Britain (Sussman 195). Reprehensible exchanges among leading researchers who stirred up the hysteria surrounding global warming also confirm ancient and largely suspected manipulations of data relating to climate. These exchanges also prove conspiracies aimed at falsifying and withholding information and suppressing conflicting findings in scholarly and peer-reviewed articles. They also provide evidence regarding the exaggeration of the presence of threats of man-made actions that cause climatic changes. A vast majority of these individuals exert immense influence over report findings issued by institutions such as the IPCC. The hoax regarding global warming is perpetuated by the attempts by progressive persons to exert control over the world’s energy industry. The reality is that nothing has changed in the global climate, which can be attributed to human activities that cause carbon dioxide emissions. The hoax continues to threaten the economy while also advancing the agenda of institutions such as the UN in many ways. The reality is that carbon dioxide is quite beneficial as a trace gas, which exists in such minute amounts within the atmosphere, that the notion that it plays a substantive role in influencing the climate is highly nonfactual. Carbon dioxide makes up less than 0.1 percent of the atmosphere. On the other hand, only 4 percent of carbon dioxide emanates from human activities (Sussman 214). This is approximately one share is every 62,500 parts in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide functions as plant food, and a critical constituent for the sustenance of life on earth. Plants require carbon dioxide in order to grow and, in turn, produce oxygen. Plants typically sustain the life of all animals, whether directly or indirectly. Animals typically consume plant-based foods, as well as oxygen, and dispense carbon dioxide. This means that, without carbon dioxide, nothing on earth could be alive. Ironically, the lies perpetuated regarding carbon dioxide are surpassed by the clearest conception of the hoax; warming is good and essential to the maintenance of life. Throughout the history of life and all living organisms, creatures have typically thrived during the warm periods experienced on the earth, and have suffered immensely, or even starved during cold periods. This lesson is likely to be affirmed in the future as organisms thrive in the warm conditions. The history of mankind proves that man flourished in warm periods. For instance, the inception of the industrial revolution came at the same time as the culmination of the Little Ice Age, which was an era of cold climate (Bell 194). Therefore, if global warming was as momentous as purported by reports, it is quite anomalous that humans have always flourished in warm durations. In addition, if increased levels of carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere were the chief cause of warming, why was it that between the 1940s and 1970s, the earth’s core temperatures increased while human use of fossil fuel reached significantly high levels? The arguments provided regarding the effects of human activities on global warming are essentially untrue, particularly because of the noted warming witnessed in Jupiter, Mars, as well as Neptune’s moon Titan. All these places, which are located a significant distance from the earth, are also experiencing the same cooling and warming cycles as the earth in recent times (Inhofe 144). This leads to the realization that human actions are not to blame for the warm atmospheric temperatures experienced on earth. It is unfathomable that perpetuators of the global warming hoax continue to imply that power plants and other emitters of carbon dioxide are responsible for rising temperatures on earth. This implication is unfathomable because it is untrue that the same elements causing climate change on earth would also be responsible for climate changes experienced in other planets within the solar system. A more conceivable view is that planets in the solar system are experiencing similar climate changes because they are in the same solar system, which means that the sun is responsible for this phenomenon. The most bothersome aspect of the global warming hoax is that it changes with time. This is exemplified by a 1974 article; “Another Ice Age?” which was published in the Time Magazine that provided the same alarmist suggestions (Inhofe 79). However, this article purported that the then eminent ice age was as a result of similar vehicular emissions, which are presently being blamed for global warming. However, this cooling ultimately stopped before warming restarted. Conclusion This is the cycle of life rather than what alarmists purport to be the catastrophic incidence of global warming caused by human activity. On the other hand, because warming ceased at least 12 years ago, global warming alarmists are now starting to admit that the earth is presently cooling. Based on the evidence pointing out that global warming is a hoax, it is evident that the media and other institutions continue to exaggerate its existence and scope, particularly by encouraging the absurd idea that it is virtuous to reduce one’s carbon footprint in order to deter global warming (Inhofe 82). This perception insinuates that humans are to blame for the warmth presently being experienced on earth, which serves as the epitome of the global warming hoax perpetuated by institutions with political agendas, as well as mainstream media.
