Evaluation of Corey Kendall’s Resume A resume serves to give a potential employer a summarized representation of the job seeker’s expertise, abilities and achievements so as to earn them an interview. Starting with the positive attributes, the candidate presents a brief one page resume with an attractive visual design. He provides his contact information in the heading to enable the potential employer to reach him by either mail, phone or e-mail if need arises. As per the job description in the advertisement, the company wants to hire a technical support and customer relations person, and the candidate clearly puts this as his objective, making it clear what he is applying for.

In his profile, the candidate mentions some of his abilities that he deems necessary for the job ranging from hardware and software installation to systematic troubleshooting and technical research. The candidate goes ahead to list his qualifications that are relevant to the job he is applying for, mentioning both his technical qualifications and interpersonal relations skills. He also lists his areas of technical expertise as follows; Programming Languages: HTML, CSS and Javascript, Software: Microsoft office, Openoffice and Marcomedia, Operating Systems: Windows and Linux, and finally networking skills as mentioned in the requirements of the job.

The candidate mentions his professional experience, clearly stating the names and cities of companies he has worked with, the employment dates and the duties he performed there. The candidate also states his education background, mentioning he has a degree in Computer Science, which is one of the main requirements for the job. On the negative side, the candidate has omitted some important information from her resume. He has not mentioned her interests and activities. He has not stated anything about his typing speed which is one on the requirements for the job, which is clearly set at 55+ wpm in the advertisement.

Lastly, he has not included any references for the employer just in case they need to confirm anything that he has presented in his resume. Conclusively, Corey Kendall’s resume is an impressive one, based on the attractive visual design and the important information and details about the candidate contained therein in relation to the advertised job. Apart from the few omitted details that are very necessary as per the job description, for example, the references and typing speed, the resume is a great representation of the candidate’s academic background, areas of specialization and his qualifications for the job in question.
