Optimization of Pore Pressure Prediction for Effective Well Planning in the Niger Delta - Thesis Example

The most effective practices in the estimation of pore pressures from the seismic velocity information will be applied. The data which is collected from the oil well production crews will be applied to ascertain the best practices for effective good drilling and maintenance. Notwithstanding those well-planning procedures may be different for different implementations within the petroleum exploration and extraction industry, the outcome must be a cost-avoidant hole, which satisfies industry and government safety requirements for the petroleum extraction engineer’s requisites for oil and gas extraction processes (Eren 2010). 

 The offset well logs contain the pressures which are evaluated by the sampling implements. These include the MDT (modulating formation dynamics tester) and the RFT (repetitive formation tester).
