The techniques of deliverability testing have been studies in the past years, although the effectiveness of such testing methods has not been validated. Well, tests have been the primary and most reliable means of quantifying deliverability, characterizing reservoirs and collecting samples of fluid reservoirs. However, there has been a void in such studies with regard to the determination of the most effective means of identification of strategy of optimization of production for oil reservoir firms.

Such effort calls for studies intended to identify alternative means of understanding the techniques applicable in the oil reservoir deliverability testing which have been used in the past and the major improvements which cn lead to better testing. To realize the general aim of this dissertation, it is vital to determine the effectiveness of production in a gas well with special attention paid to the reservoir conditions. Absolute Open Flow (AOF) is such an important indicator of oil well productivity from the deliverability tests.

The AOF test defines the optimum well flow rate against the backpressure of the atmosphere on a sand face. It is therefore important to determine the important empirical and theoretical gas-flow equations which inform the modified isochronal, flow-after-flow, isochronal and single-point deliverability tests.AcknowledgmentI would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all who made this dissertation a success. To my supervisor is my appreciation for the invaluable guidance. His comments helped me to shape my work for quality purposes.

His comments on each step made ensured that the dissertation was effectively completed. My deepest gratitude is extended to my university for the provision of the necessary laboratory equipment that was relevant for the practical sessions of this dissertation. I would like to note the contributions of my college students who gave various comments and ideas some of which were great pointers to the general quality of my dissertation.
