Look at the way that technology is used in teaching Today technology is playing a vital role in education sector. Through technological advancements,access to education is getting easier by the passage of time. If you have any thrust for education, your mobile phone, television, tablet, computer and other gadgets can do everything to fetch the information you need. You only need to have connected to internet. According to rough estimates, millions of students are enrolled with online education providers and the figure is increasing terrifically.
Use of handheld gadgets like tablet and i-phone in studies is famous among the students around the world. There are a lot of educational applications (apps) on the internet which help students excel in their studies. While interactive whiteboards (often abbreviated as IWBs) are also used in advanced educational institutions for teaching purposes. Many universities and educational institutes are airing their educational programs and lectures on their own dedicated satellite channels. Education through mobile phones is the recent way to educate the world. For example, K-12 (means kindergarten to 12 standard) is the largest online school of United States of America and Rehan School (named after founder Rehan Allahwala) of Paistan are some examples of two big emerging online schools.
On the other hand there are certain things if not managed properly become barriers which limit the online education system’s performance. Some of these barriers are resources, institution, subject culture, attitudes and believes, knowledge and skills and assessment. There are certain techniques in practice to overcome these barriers like shared vision and technology integration plan, overcoming the scarcity of resources, changing attitudes and beliefs, conducting professional development and reconsidering assessment (Khe Foon Hew and Thomas Brush: 2006). Due to advanced technology means we have become wholly solely dependent on technological facilities. Due to use of calculator and internet, children of new generation are less capable when it comes to talk about intelligence and analytical skills. Scams are everywhere in the world of technology and internet. Some people are committing scams by the name of so called online education academies.
Majority of the people around the world still believe that direct interaction with teacher is the best way to learn when it comes to talk about quality education. In direct interaction, there is a big advantage of sharing knowledge with each other directly. We can learn more new things when we study in an environment.
So gone are the days when people had to travel from one place to other in quest of knowledge. But now at any instant people are not only connected to each other but also linked to online educational resources. Stills there is need to incorporate a good strategy to run online education institute as ethical dilemmas are everywhere in online education.
