Differences in both styles: Using persuasive style of writing, two themes have been put forward in two different ways.

The first theme attempts to convince the HR officer to consider the specific candidature for the role specified (that of a Web Designer). The sentences used are longer and in superlative tone intended to grab complete attention by showing confidence, and leave no opportunity for ambiguity or contention in considering the profile for the specified role. The second theme intends to advertise a product (Web-based services) with an intention to exemplify the first theme. The sentences in this theme are not in a superlative tone; however, are expressive and intend to aim at audience with absolute requirement of the service.

This theme uses informative sentences keeping in mind the target audience and persuasion is through facts related to pay, timing, ease and other benefits. An effort to persuade the target audience is being accomplished by putting forth information and view points, and also letting the audience to take the decision. Problem identified: Lack of transition Theme 1 uses only information with no facts to support. No transition from one sentence to another. Lack of balance due to absence of areas of improvement.

Theme 2 is more informative with some facts related to nature of service, again no coherence. Insufficient information from audiences’ perspective. What do you think of them? The sentences used are apt to their respective themes and meant to persuade specific group of people, and may leave impressions of vagueness on other people. Does your emotion affect your style? Sentences in both themes reflect emotions in two different aspects. The first theme emotions are highly positive and depict expression of personality; and an attempt to include all possible qualities ignored the transition factor.

The second theme expresses passion and helpfulness; and has the potential to create slight ambiguity in understanding. Do your sentences feel different when you are angry? Not in this context because these expressions are realistic and not disguised. This is an exercise in writing and emotion. How do you feel your sentence structure is affected by your emotions? Sentences reflect emotions related to passion, character, skills; but, notably emotions are underplayed in the sentences and are expressed in a more formal manner, with a hope of prospective benefit.
