Non-profit organizations suffer through administrative issues because of lacking coordination among the members of various functional areas and hence the overall productivity of those organizations is hampered in the shape of inadequate deliverance in their philanthropic projects.
The need is to develop skills of team building within the organizations through training and development comprised of several activities and case studies that will exemplify the significance of team building in various situations. Team building helps to develop leadership within the organizations and derives synergic effects into the organizations as well. It saves time as well as effort because of effective behavioral change that occurs due to team building. Program CostThe proposed cost of the program includes administrative costs and training and education material costs.
Administrative cost covers all expenses that include venue preparation, financial reporting, secretarial work, and the cost of trainers. Other cost includes training tools, kits, and relevant handouts. The goal is to render non-profit organizations more effective in delivering their philanthropic services. The culture of working in teams has to be nurtured in such organizations to let them work better. The target population for the program is a staff of non-profit organizations including managers and line staff to let them train to work in teams and coordinate within their respective organizations. Activities Following are the proposed activities that help to develop team building skills: Case Studies Certain case studies will be highlighted that will portray the importance of working in teams and that will also signify team building values and critical situations that can be handled effectively with the help of teamwork.
Debate and Discussion The staff members will be given healthy topics to discuss and debate so that they begin to realize the conflict of ideas and manage those differences that help to make effective teams. Ice Breaking Ice breaking activities will be introduced among the members so they may get close to each other and develop an understanding to work together. Volunteer Team Building Certain activities will be initiated and members will be asked to voluntarily build their teams so they come to know the group dynamics.
Role Playing Certain roles and situations will be assigned to let the members practically learn team building.
