Immunity and asylum need to be provided to those in need of it in the US. Female circumcision is inherently wrong and the cultural significance need not be evaluated. This is because of the harmful effects the practice imposed on the survivors. It may result in the death of the victim, permanent problems in the childbearing, contraction of sexually transmitted infections, and loss of esteem (Momoh, pg.78). Qn.3 There are no forms of female circumcision that are acceptable. Male circumcision is acceptable in most cultures and the process involves the removal of the foreskin of the penis.

Type 1 female circumcision entails the excision of the prepuce with or without removal of all or a part of the clitoris. This is not analogous to male circumcision. Steven Svoboda in the article, A Rose by Any Other Name points out that, giving these surgical processes to male and female genitalia different names, the first being circumcision and the second being mutilation is not proper. He argues that it prohibits objective analysis of the harm and danger it causes to minors of all genders. Qn.4Yes.

This article does change my thinking about male circumcision. Its shows the harmful effects that males also undergo and proposes the need for it to be carried out in controlled environments surgically.
